The forbidden technique...

One would hope, but I have seen a lot of indies flounder their franchising. Lotta sequels take yeaaaars to materialize if they ever do. But I hope I'm wrong in this case.

Save 90% on En Garde! on Steam En Garde! โ€“ the swashbuckler action game! Battle graceless guards and nefarious noblemen in fast-paced fights full of spectacle. Use the environment, your wit and your blade to teach them all a lesson...

Joining Wavetale, En Garde! has also decided to hit the "basically free" level of discount. Pretty hard to say no.

My brother in Aidios, it's like three times as popular as any other Falcom game (if not more). There has been actual buzz around it compared to the indifferent shrugs their games usually get.

The ending theme is also amazing:

Popful Mail is some good shit. It's a goofy and casual (if you patch out the Working Designs fuckery) romp with a godly presentation.

Doesn't feel like much of a Falcom game, but maybe that's why they wanted to remake it into a Sonic game. Could have done without the slurs, though.

Making some dents into Vampire Survivors and enjoying Popful Mail. Doesn't feel like a Falcom game, but I suppose that's the Sega influence.

My copy of Ys X: Proud Nordics came with this weird patch. Anybody know what's up with that?

Kerrik Plays Sweet Home [Part 9]: Sweet Home (1989) Audio Commentary
Kerrik Plays Sweet Home [Part 9]: Sweet Home (1989) Audio Commentary YouTube video by Kerrik52 Plays

To cap off my let's play of Sweet Home, I decided to produce a commentary track for the film the game is based on.

The movie is still up on Youtube (linked in the description), so this is an easy watch and my dumb jokes only makes it better(?).

That's true conviction and sanctity of character you're displaying.

I'm swamped with Falcom games too (shocker) and it helps to remember that Capcom games do drop in price pretty quickly. Could probably scoop up RE9 & Pragmata for cheap before long.

If you're coming from the Igavanias, then it's probably because they have quite different design philosophies. Classicvanias want you to master a linear and tense series of challenges, while Igavanias are more about chewing on large environments and finding cool stuff.

Turns out Vampire Surivors gets much easier when you bother locating the upgrade menu.

But what a powerful piece of art! I stayed up to 3 AM playing and I see the game as soon as I close my eyes. They really cracked the code of how to sear something onto your brain.

Still remember a classmate describing this game to me, thinking he was full of shit. Turns out it's very real.

More than anything, I'm kind of impressed he had a Genesis emulator running on his PC back in like 2003. Someone else had Nesticle, so maybe that was just a thing dads set up back then.

...I really nailed it when I thought of this as an emergency time machine for family gatherings, huh.

Friend came over to test my Switch 2 and we tried a bit of DM3 in co-op and that was awesome.

...but then I bought Vampire Survivors because it was on sale and has co-op and now I am ears deep into this vile software and can't get out.

Super Lucky's Tale was wonderful!

I have prodded at multiple retro-revival 3d platformers, but this one really nailed it. They have enough scope for a satisfying set of levels, good controls and some fun characters. It echoes a bunch of other platformers, but remains it's own thing.

Almost done with New Super Lucky's Tale. I feel like this game has gone under the rade unjustly for much too long. I was barely aware of it before, but it's a terrific 3d platformer.

Since I did A Bug's Life, my pal took the reigns on playing through the awesome modern fan port of Bugdom.

What we soon realized was that we got off easy only ever playing the start as children, those last few levels are evil. But I can't deny that the whole game has a good vibe.

I'm usually not one to use other games to beat on Square Enix, but if Ys VS Trails of all things can get a lovingly done remaster with new voice acting and netcode, what the hell is Dissidia's excuse?

Not that this was perfect since Limited Run delayed it two months, but still!

At least Siren Blood Curse lets you transfer its stupid pop song about triangles to your HDD for an easier listen?
