But the play was dead. You can't assess a penalty shot for illegally disrupting a scoring chance that didn't exist. You can still commit other infractions on a dead play that result in a 2 minute minor, so all non-penalty shot penalties from the dead play are also (again, obviously) still valid.

Ok so obviously if the play was ruled offside and a goal was overturned, you can't then give a penalty shot from something that also happened while the play was still offside. We all agree on this, right? Like it's very clear and obvious.
