Government unveils first details of next GP contract including extra £889m The Government has unveiled the first details of the next GP contract, including an extra £889m for general practice.

I really hope the inclusion of practice nurses in the ARRS scheme comes to fruition. It’s about time their vital role in primary care is recognised and supported in a way that strengthens the whole team! #PracticeNurses #PrimaryCare #NurseSky

Talking about men in nursing is important, but how about fair pay, better working conditions, and support for all nurses? We should fix the system, not just the stats. #NurseSky

Fair pay for general practice nursing staff | Royal College of Nursing General Practice Nursing staff play an essential role in delivering NHS services, but many of them still aren’t receiving the fair pay they deserve. We're campaigning to change that.

General practice nurses work hard to support patients and keep communities healthy. It’s time for our pay to be fair and reflect our commitment and expertise! #NurseSky #ValueGPNurses

That nursing is a vocation. I think I’ll scream at the next person who says that. It’s not a vocation, it’s a highly skilled profession, and language like that is used to justify low pay. #NurseSky

A lot of nurse work is hidden—like spotting problems early, managing safety, and coordinating care. Thats why education is so important! It gives us the skills and knowledge to handle complex tasks, make informed decisions, and show that we’re more than just caregivers—we’re professionals #nursesky

Outdated media portrayals, lack of understanding about our advanced skills, gender biases, and not enough spotlight on the leadership & expertise we bring. #NurseSky

Alright, I’ve officially given in and bought Salah. Spent the whole season pretending I didn’t need him, and now I’m just hoping he can work some point-scoring magic to make up for my denial 🙄 #FPL

Early findings from the NHS Type 2 Diabetes Path to Remission Programme: a prospective evaluation of real-world implementation Findings from the NHS T2DR programme show that remission of type 2 diabetes is possible outside of research settings, through at-scale service delivery. However, the rate of remission achieved is lower and the ascertainment of data is more limited with implementation in the real world than in randomised controlled trial settings.

Some great results from the NHS Path to Remission Programme, showing real progress with weight loss and diabetes remission using total diet replacement plans. But honestly, I’ve seen so many patients struggle to stick with it. How can we make this easier for them? #DiabetesCare #NurseSky

It will never be the receptionists job to triage how important your appointment need is. They will take the information from you, (as they have been asked to do by the GPs), and then someone with medical training will triage this for you. If you don't want to talk to them, fill in an online form.
