I prefer thread and fabric over people. I guess that makes me antisewcial.

Go for it, it will be fabulous. Just make sure you stitch each cross fully, before moving on to the next

I LOVE stitching with variegated floss. No need to keep changing colour and no piece will ever look quite the same as another.
Have you ever tried stitching with it in spirals, rather than rows or columns?
Let me know what you think and if you'd be tempted to have a go in the comments.

I bought the lowest cost dupe of DMC threads on amazon I could find to see how they compare.
The first thing I did was sort them roughly into numerical order as I’d read in the reviews you sometimes got multiples of some colours and missed others.

I made a start on this frog last night, since so many of you said the pennant looked like a fly swatter.
I was thinking of adding a phrase at the bottom. Any suggestions?

These are a poly cotton mix, so maybe that explains the coverage. I'm interested to see how they fair. As I've always been a die hard DMC woman

I bought the cheapest dupe DMC threads from Amazon, to see how they match up.
I'm going to compare them for thread quality, coverage, colour matching and fastness.
How do you think they'll compare?
