If you're being professionally socialized in an environment where your mentors are heavily leaning on LLMs, and you're losing grants or jobs or journal hits to people who are heavily leaning on LLMs...

People are developing work habits that will shape their careers (if lucky enough to remain in academic research). Is the aim to join the LLM productivity rat race or claim purity? When one is being evaluated, how does one know what camp the evaluator will be in?
