"Why are we so bad at being honest about our feelings? Is it because we're so exhausted from living that we don't have time to share them?"

It's a good one. I wanted to quote the entire paragraph, but character limits are a thing.

"Someone, at some point, had told him he was too much, had shut him up, and now he did it to himself, even when whoever he was talking to didn't seem to mind."

Okay, thanks for awkwardly hitting the relatable feels already.

But I have 40 pages left in my books and I am STRESSED and I need to finish this but my eyes are betraying me. Someone tell myself I can not stop where I'm at.

I am so frustrated by Gertie, which I can't explain without giving any kind of spoilers, but man is the frustration real.
That aside, if (when? ๐Ÿ˜) this gets made for the screen, I have the perfect person in mind for her role. Wunmi Mosaku

With the Smithsonian contributing in the attempt to rewrite and hide parts of history, I feel like this is an even more important time to start reading this book.

11 pages in, not even out of the introduction, and I'm wondering if this book may be too smart for me. Or should I not read it when I'm getting tired.

Finally reading A Long Stretch of Bad Days by @mindymcginnis.bsky.social
Every time I open up one of her books, I'm reminded how amazing her skill is with making realistic teen characters who act in ways that aren't watered down or "nice".
If you haven't checked her books out yet, HERE'S YOUR SIGN.

Finished Vol. 5 of the series Monstress. I wish I knew more who read these. The take on racism, homosexuality, being a woman, being in pain & suffering, is all told with top notch storytelling by Marjorie Liu & phenomenal artwork by Sana Takeda. I'm reading them as fast as the library gets them in.

If you want to read how jealous St. James was of most people he was around while acting like he wasn't, this is for you. If you want to read something that has A LOT OF very chaotic writing on every single page, this one is for you.

St. James writes as if he was still fueled by drugs, with most situations centered around him. Frankly Michael is a side side character and Angel hardly shows on the pages. If you want to know what St. James was thinking when he existed on drugs for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, this is for you.

I learned about Angel's death by watching the movie Party Monster, so decided to finally read the book written by someone who was deep involved in the events.

If you're wanting to know more about the murder of Angel, you won't really find it here.

In the Miso Soup has a slow buildup leading up to the explosive climax, with an ending that will have you staring at your novel for awhile after the last page is read.

If you're familiar with Murakami's novels, you'll know a general of what you're getting into. If this is your first time, be prepared for some uncomfortablyaddictive and dark storytelling with heavy character reflections that aren't necessarily positive.
