I’m actually disappointed that Paloma isn’t there, because she usually seems to be absolutely pissed. I had to google which skinny-jeaned Libertines wannabe the Kooks were.

Went on a Hootenanny wiki wormhole, they had the Hold Steady on one year,Vampire Weekend another, slim pickings but you know.. At least Paloma Faith seems to be unavailable and no sign of Vic Reeves.

It’s tricky, the 80’s would like a word (OMD,Echo & the Bunnymen etc but I was alive then and took it for granted, now it bugs me. Though possibly my favourite ever band name is Psychedelia Smith a big beat band back in the heady days of Fatboy Slim and Chemical Brothers

“Heavy shoegaze …” etc ticks most of my boxes but the band name offends my aesthetics (that’s a me thing) but I will check it out. But if heavy shoegaze etc is your thing check out the recent Just Mustard album (full disclosure this band name is also awful)

As an Irishman I get the concept of cricket but I don’t get the point. I love reading reports of the matches because they read like Beefheart,Waits or Mark E Smith lyrics.

Always disappointed to go into a vintage clothes shop only to be confronted with 4 year old football jerseys, ugly knitwear and shell suits. If it’s not from the 50’s,60’s or 70’s it’s not vintage, it’s sparkling second hand

That's a young man's game. Towards the back is probably more immersive.

I was sitting stage centre up towards the back of the venue and I was vibrating from some of the bass. I think I had an out of body experience during "To Here Knows When",they were excellent.

They are trying to make it a thing, but it's not really working because the tricolour isn't that scary. Everyone loves it, especially immigrants.

Uncut found them, the magazine is okay, new All About Eve interview and vintage articles from the usual suspects The top 3 probably wouldn’t surprise you.

I’m reading the Uncut 200 greatest Goth albums magazine and they have a very generous definition of Goth. The first Soft Cell album,Nico,Echo & the Bunnymen!
