JR Fryer, writer for #KULT:DivinityLost and #LegendInTheMist. I typically write liminal and surreal horror, as well as folk horror recently. One of my favorite antagonists is Mr. Dark from Something Wicked This Way Comes, mainly โcause Bradbury got me into the genre as a kid #horrorwriterschat

Yep, that's totally on point with my players XD Never envisioned the sheer number of dick jokes coming up in my 'serious' campaign.
Man, that cuts deep...
Fifteen sessions since they discovered the city of Khwarel, and my players continue to call it 'Carl.' ๐
Oh that's cool. Reminds me of one of my favorite EXALTED supplements, The White Treatise and Black Treatise.
For me, the review read like a pseudo-intellectual critique of the game the reviewer wanted, not what the game actually was. Written like someone whoโd complain DOOM didnโt invoke the sociopolitical underpinnings of Danteโs Inferno. Was that the intention? No clue. But not shocked by the reactions.
Not seen #TheLongWalk yet? Promptly unf%&k that shit. It is still living rent-free in my head days later. Easily one of the best #StephenKing adaptations because it strips out the Hollywood BS and just focuses on his strength - characters. Hoffman and Jonsson are miracles. Simple. Brutal. See it.
Another location video for #HeartsofRavensdale. Inspired by an actual place in Alberta. Indeed, lot of Ashstone stemmed from my childhood there.
Find your magic every where!
After ten years, Episode 5 for THE LONG DARK dropped, finally revealing the fates of Astrid and MacKenzie. Buggy, little illogical, but overly an enjoyable (if bleak) ending to a decade's long story. Definitely intrigued by the upcoming sequel. In the meantime, going to play some more Survival mode.
Now that's a solid card. And good omen for this week. Thank you! ๐๐บ
Houston, we have a problem...
A general pull would be delightful. Also, amazing pic.
Move over kudzu, it's time to start the killer sandbur horror trend... got one of them in my thumb yesterday and bled more than a Dorohedoro episode.
Enjoy the weekend.
THE MIST set in Tokyo by NWR? Just inject that stuff into my veins XD Absolutely screams neon-noir #KULT.
Gone for half a century next week, but still close to my heart. Still remember oh'ing and aw'ing over his PBS MYSTERY! opening and cackling at the hilarious deaths of 26 children. Taught me the meaning of macabre and ennui, and how the weird and grotesque were delightful fun. An inspiration, always.
Currently? KEDAMONO OPERA...mainly so I could be exquisitely grumpy, yet be fawned over, and eat the people who annoyed me ๐บ (It's Wednesday. What can I say?)
I kinda dug BAD GLASS by Richard Gropp for its found-footage approach to zonecare. Also, some seriously crunchy body horror. (Note, its writing style can be off-putting for some, but worth the try).
What is zonecore?
Creating Exclusion Zone Botanist led me to search for the origins and critical works of the genre, including Roadside Picnic.
Here are five elements of zonecore and a list of tabletop games for inspiration: omnes.exeunt.press/p/what-is-zo...

Wonderful news! So proud.
Welcome back. Absolutely stunning photo. Blessings on your path forward.
Dude, my worries for #BoneTemple were put to rest. Hot damn that was glorious, bloody fun. And - if I might say - infinitely better the 28 Years Later. Sort of glad I ~didn't~ see it in the theatre, 'cause I was up and dancing (flailing) with Fiennes in one of the best scenes I've watched in ages...
Thank you ๐ (And now I have to explain why I'm all misty eyed in my staff meeting ๐ )
It is utterly bizarre hearing words I wrote read aloud #HeartsofRavensdale ๐ณ (Also the first words I wrote for the Dales... the world grew from this passage).
Another reminder of how amazing the art is in #HeartsofRavensdale. Love this game and so proud to have been a part of it.
Yeah, 1st edition had that issue. Hope they get to enjoy the new one :-)
Considering she's part thief, I bet you could do a sick bandit mask with silver stains where the tears 'touch' it.
Saw this opening night. I don't think I've been in a more traumatized audience in my life XD
Thank you for sharing those two writers' amazing work. They've got a solid future in the business, I think.
Considering AI can't come up with new ideas or generate human emotions, how is this different from the real thing?
