Everyone wish our newest volunteer and foster parent a very very happy birthday! Emelia has been amazing, jumping in to foster a mouse and several male rats! She’s also taking charge of our Patreon and TikTok as well as helping with other social media. We are so thrilled to have her on board!

The precocious ones are learning to use (and fight over) the water bottle. Unsure which of these behaviors is more essential to rat development, as they will grow up to spend far more time fighting over water bottles than drinking from them.

I like being a rat mom but I’m so glad I’m not an actual rat mom. This sweetie is a champ who is trying to pick up the slack for all of them. She got a special snack!

Clearly that bowl jumped up and attacked him, the evidence is all over.

So there is a rescue case in NY with hundreds of pet rats, maybe 1000, not accounting for pregnant ones. Obviously we are trying to help as much as we can. So I have been driving around grabbing cheap cages from marketplace.

We are pretty sure the babies are both girls, so I’ve continued the naming theme of their mom & aunties.

Our girl Luisa surprised us with two beautiful baby girls, and now they have names to match their strong little spirits. 💪
