Free speech as a priority has fallen off a cliff even for civil society people. We're really going to get China's internet without China's economy

People don’t seem to get how far along LLMs have come especially within the software development lifecycle area . Like the next iteration of engineers are going to focus more on curation / prompt engineering / conflict resolution than writing code

Was India aware that an Iranian ship that was returning to Iran after being India's guest for an official event was sunk by an American submarine in our own backyard? I hope India musters courage at least now to speak up, and protest against US, the bully.

This is why India will only allow Starlink kicking and screaming. The government wants the policy space to turn off the entire internet at will, if shit hits the fan. And they also want the policy space for, when shit does hit the fan, to crack down brutally.

Amazing that we smothered linear TV to death/containment to previous generation before things like this could happen.

The Indian film and TV industry are in hibernation this generation. Best principle is to just wait for this medium to begin anew at some point, led by names who are nobodies today. Hope I'm alive to see the day.

Looks like they're blocking outbound RDP connections. Nothing I can do to get them to unblock it. As a middle solution I've got them to uninstall some bloatware that was not required by company policy.

Like any Hindu organization formed after 1991 in a place where Hindus are already present in decent numbers should set off alarm bells.

Hindu community leaders have warned Sir Keir Starmer that Labour’s new Islamophobia definition will have a “significant chilling effect” on freedom of speech.
They say it conflates hostility towards Muslims with criticism of the religion of Islam, which would mean Hindus speaking about their historical persecution under Islamic empires in South Asia would fall foul of the definition.

I remote into my home PC because work machine isn't fast enough. Something mysterious is adding a 200 millisecond speedbreaker to this and making the whole thing unusable.

Yes, I was splurging these credits precisely because I ran into that limit. Reached out to customer care when the credits were removed from my account, and they restored them - but warned me that it would be best to spend them in order to avoid the carryover issue.

Or a day possibly. Perhaps there to prevent hackers from abusing access to abandoned accounts with an active subscription

Tried redeeming a few Audible titles with freshly recovered credits from a long-ago lapsed subscription. Couldn't spend beyond ten credits. Can't find anything online about this. So looks like I've run into a cap that literally nobody else has faced/complained about.
