They're not great, but they're better than the Lando Calrissian books from that era.

I can't believe I didn't catch that! Here's something I wrote a couple years ago:
One of the characters in this Star Wars novel I'm reading is named "Teneniele", and I'm disappointed that the author hasn't found a way to work "the captain and Teneniele" into the narrative.
Hey, @davekellett.bsky.social, I think I just got a joke you set up fifteen years ago. Is Captain Taneel named after Captain & Tennille?
I would totally play Endeavor Derp Sea. And Endeavor Deep Sea, since it's been in my collection ever since the Kickstarter ended and I still haven't played it.
Bugs Bunny: What's up, Doc
Doctor: Not much, Bugs. What's up with you
Bugs: I'm depressed. I'm always taking a left at Albuquerque
Doctor: Well, I've got the thing. The opera. There's a beautiful maiden on a horse. Should cheer you right up
Bugs: [chewing carrot morosely] Eh, I've got bad news
But yeah, most of us do.
To understand the faction leading America, recognize they think the worst, most terrifying things to happen in recent years are:
1) George Floyd protests
2) Public health treating COVID as real
3) HR saying "we've received complaints about your, um, 'jokes'"
4) Press 1 for English
5) Pronouns in bio
We had Mediterranean food last night. We had the same experience.
Like, why did the Treasury Department just hand their servers over to Musk? He's not even a government employee! I get Trump's their boss, but if you know your boss has a bad idea, why not push back?
I keep seeing statements from people at these agencies saying how horrible it is, so why don't they just ... I don't know, NOT DO IT?
I'm asking sincerely. I don't understand it.

Ok, explain it to me like I'm four....
Why are so many agencies just tucking tail and following whatever edicts Trump and his cronies send their way? Don't they understand civil disobedience?

I've explained it as making a product at the final city, but you need parts from all the cities you pass through on the way to make that product.
I don't really understand this response from the NIH. Do they not understand civil disobedience? Why aren't they just ignoring these edicts?
Asking sincerely: What am I missing?
I used to love long, heavy, punishing games. Now, I just love Age of Steam. I don't have time to learn new games that will take 10+ plays at 3+ hours each just to start being competitive.
We also met a kind woman who is part of a local volunteer group that cares for the cats. They feed them, give them vet care when necessary, and rehome many of them to the US. They're called Save a Gato and accept donations!

This is Hortence. I didn't want to disturb her nap.
This is Ogre. He came up to me and grabbed my hand and pulled it to him, so I gave him pets. Then he realized I didn't have food and gave me a nip. Still a good boy.
This is Bess. She wanted no pets, and asked me to keep my distance. I respected that.
Cats I Met in Old San Juan: A Thread
This is Clarence. He was camera shy, but enjoyed pets.
i like logical butts and i cannot lie you other Vulcans cannot deny that when a human female beams down with a fascinating waist and a round thing in your face you get Pon Farred
I feel like this entry should come with a phonetic spelling.
Congratulations!
Swirly Ploof. Very Dickensian.
More than once in my life I've found a book I want to read that's OOP and stupidly expensive on the secondary markets. ILL was the answer every time.
Ooh, I don't know about those. Are they at Costco too?
Anita Bryant's death is either:
Proof that God exists, because if he does, so does Hell.
Or:
Proof that God doesn't exist, because she lived to 84.
Listen all y’all, it’s a Santa Claus
Listen all y’all, it’s a Santa Claus
Listen all y’all, it’s a Santa Claus!
LISTEN ALL Y’ALL, IT’S A SANTA CLAUS!
That can't be possible.
