BAFTA just censored a game trailer they were supposed to run during the night of their gaming awards show.

The trailer is one of the most inoffensive trailers I've ever seen, with implied struggles but nothing shown, yet it was censored for "triggering themes".

Oh shit I love the look of this cone ngl. Reminds me of like Xbox 360 era scifi games, where everything was stylised like this (Gears Of War, Rage, Halo 3, Fallout 3, etc etc). Was a unique look that we somehow forgot existed and never got back.

Nowadays if I cry, there's like a 65% chance I'll check myself out in the mirror after. Sometimes the crying can change the shape and shine of my eyes, and I will have little red blush under them, and it all looks very cute!!

Randomly remembered as a kid when I'd cry in public I'd immediately have another meltdown on top of the first, but about me looking ugly when I cry. I'm only just realising that might have been from dysphoria.

So like, A Machine For Pigs is REALLY good in concept. Story is genuinely solid. The gameplay is where it completely falls apart though. If you haven't played Amnesia: The Dark Descent, I'd highly recommend you play it first since the gameplay is far better and then check out AMFP just for the plot.

I think if The Chinese Room didn't fumble A Machine For Pigs so badly then we'd be in a timeline where people respected the genre a lot more from the beginning, rather than dismiss it as the "I suck at REAL game design and substitute it with wordiness" genre. It's a shame it's taken this long.

I hope that one day Harry Potter is magically purged from humanity's entire history and memory BUT somehow "Wizard People, Dear Reader" survives, and everyone is left very confused by its inexplicable existence and people go insane trying to find the original film to no avail.

Happy 15th anniversary to one of the only truly formative pieces of art I ever got to experience as a kid. If I didn't get into the Portal games as an 8 year old boy, I wouldn't the 21 year old girl I am today.

Genuinely surprising given how much they love to use Portal 2/Aperture in their marketing all the time. I guess they're pretty busy on Deadlock and "other projects".
