A painting of a bird beside the text "that was pretty great if you like stupid shit"

Finally watching Murderbot and it's so awesome
Dude admits that it wasn't easier to try to pull a good prompt out of AI versus actually writing it, so why must we accept it?
You want us to spend as much time doing more boring work that destroys the environment, and you think that's inevitable?
Weird.
The majority of the ad is yellow text against a green background: "Time is against you. Gravity is against you. Genetics are against you. But, hey, have a great day." Below it reads: "Log on to enutrition.com and discover 288 Weigh tmanagement products, 1934 natural remedies, plus thousands of other health and nutrition supplements. All delivered directly to your door. Enter the following location code during step 2 of the checkout process and save $5 on your order. 1FPGD" The bottom right has the logo and slogan, with the logo made to look like a search bar: "Enutrition.com: your source for healthy living."
"In Your Face" or "Atttitude" advertising began in the 60s but hit their stride in the 90s with Gen-X scatological cynicism now hitting the workforce and thus getting purchasing power. When Gen-X bought their Millenial kids the internet, the ads look like this. (Source.)
can think of at least 50 artists who, if you gave them each even like 100 thousand dollars, it would absolutely change the culture we live in for the better. 5 million is pocket change in the scheme of things. but we have to live in a world where all of that capital is wasted on bullshit like this.
curated two panel comic by Jenna7 @jenna7.tgirl.gay; first panel is B'Elanna with caption: doc are you... are you high; second panel is a squinty EMH, grinning with stylized text: we.. all... toke... down HERE; B'Elanna: you modified your program again didn't you; EMH: lol yeah blaze it
Gonna take this opportunity to say that I can personally deliver no script for as little as 7 million, and I know some other writers who can do it for as little as five million.
What's your favourite one liner from Star Trek...any series or movie

I love all of these so much
We should all own a bone folder
A complex piece by John Matteos, in an Art Deco take on the Cyberpunk Classic style. In a red frame, three silhouetted heads (each with gears, interlocking between the three heads) are superimposed over a gold CD; a globe is superimposed over all three. The top head is facing left; his gear is driving the globe. Where he peers left, he 'scans', his human eyes revealed as his grey view looks over the curvature of the CD. The middle head is facing right; where she peers, her human eyes revealed as her red view looks over a painting of a tree. The bottom head is facing left; where he looks, his yellow view superimposes a keyboard and mouse, but in his view, it is revealed to be a human hand.
Part of the fun of composing this bot is finding these magnificent artworks that would otherwise go completely forgotten and uncommented on. (Source.)

Re-reading A Psalm for the Wild-Built right now, and the part that Mosscap is disgusted at the idea of being networked... really makes sense considering how much difficulty my computer has now that it's connected to other computers on my household network

Please stop using ChatGPT in general, but also, please, please stop using it and then taking what it says to you as fact. It's usually wrong! It doesn't fact check itself. It just creates approximations of information based on other text! It's basically magnetic poetry that sets the world ablaze.
My first time purchasing vintage NatGeo magazines and it's making me sneeze like never before
New toys for more papercrafting
I unsubscribed from New Yorker because i'm a midwestern princess but now i feel FOMO
An excerpt from an interview of Adnan, where she says "You have a need to free things up, to put them in order, to clear away nonessential things to make room in your head, so that an image can take its place. For me, that's what poetry is. It's when your attention recovers and rests."

I think this happens when I'm making those paper poems things... and when it doesn't happen, it feels like a fake chore.
It strikes me that the "it's rude to tell a writer you hated their book to their face" is really a subset of "have you tried not being an unbridled asshole to total strangers."

An old System 6 status window reads: "That wraps up your status for the very first years of life. I hope you like yourself. If not, you can always try to improve in the years to come. There's plenty of time." Buttons are Continue and Escape.
