I'm guessing they get less than 1/2 the seats in Texas they were expecting.

In a D+10 environment the gerrymandering won't help, anyway, IMO.

This would be good to know....how many safe R seats are now R+12ish and gettable.

Guessing more than zero.

Not allowed in MAGA, as you've discovered.

I have never in my life looked at so many different voting results *in between* midterms, lol.

Those 49% need to see a video of Trump in 2016 vs. one from 2026.

The contrast is STARK.

These people never consider the shoe being on the other foot. Imagine some D in office going after an organization that was deemed a terrorist organization via Executive order, and working this angle.

And unlike Antifa, this group had red hats to identify their allegiance...

I'd wager there's 0% chance he knows.

Dear Dave,
I was thinking about a story this morning that really shows why I’m so glad you’re in our corner.

Down in the Lower Umatilla Basin, near Pendleton, thousands of our neighbors have been dealing with a quiet, invisible crisis: nitrate pollution in their drinking water. For a long time, it was a story that stayed on the margins. But because we added a full-time rural communities reporter living and working right there in Pendleton, we’ve been able to stay with it—not just for a day, but for months. And in partnership with our reporters on climate and environment and agriculture beats, we've been able to go deeper into the issue — something that wouldn't be possible without your support.

Usually, news outlets drop in for a headline and leave. But because of people like you, we’re able to stay. We’re listening to families who are worried about their health and looking for actual solutions.

When federal funding went away, it could have meant closing bureaus like this one. But you didn't let that happen. You are the reason that reporter is in Pendleton today. You are the reason this community’s voice is finally being heard.

I just wanted to share that with you before things get busy with our Spring Member Drive. It’s your support in action, and it’s making a real difference.
Best,

This is how you thank donors. A story that does not include "by the way, send us more", but shows a specific example of where donations make a difference and a simple 'Thank you".

Same! The fact that *every time* it takes me more than 30 seconds to decide which one is right ...well, it just starts a fight in my own brain and there are no winners, just casualties.

Why is the House not holding Bondi in contempt? Why is Oversight not holding Epstein hearings? Why is Oversight not doing more in this case?

Good Question! (1/3)

Analyses of Donald Trump's speeches, such as those from POLITICO and The Week, consistently place his spoken language at a 3rd to 4th-grade level, sometimes stretching to 6th grade depending on the analysis (e.g., Carnegie Mellon University). Using the Flesch-Kincaid readability test, his vocabulary and sentence structure are noted for being simpler than other modern US presidents.

SOMETIMES STRETCHING TO 6th. That's like "sometimes he manages to blink both eyes at once"

"Adversary" is typically considered an 8th grade word. It refers to an opponent or someone who opposes another in a contest or conflict.

100%. Adversary is not in a 4th grader's vocabulary.
