Today's vote paves the way for mass detention, family separation and deportations - normalising abuse we've seen with ICE in the US.
Now Commission, Council and Parliament will work to hammer out a final text.
Help us stop it.

French NGOs @ldh.fr @utopia56.bsky.social and @anafeasso.bsky.social accuse him of having encouraged Frontex agents to facilitate the interception of migrant boats by Libyan and Greek authorities in the Mediterranean.
Fabrice Leggeri is now an MEP with far-right Rassemblement National.
Prosecuted for helping people at the Belarus border. This trial should have never started in the first place.

Tommy Olsen, founder of @aegeanboatreport.bsky.social, has been arrested in his hometown in Norway following a European arrest warrant by Greece.
His "crime"? Documenting pushbacks and helping people in need in the Aegean. This arrest is a shameful attack against solidarity and human decency.
Every day, across Europe, millions of people rely on the dedication of Personal & Household Services (PHS) workers, who provide care or domestic support for people in their homes.
Help us better understand PHS by filling in the survey now:
Happy and proud to join calls to protect EU funding for social inclusion. Support must reach those who are being marginalised in our societies.
Everyone deserves to be cared for, with or without papers. Once again, Spain is showing that another Europe is possible.

This vote seals a toxic alliance between centre-right and far-right forces, after weeks of backroom deals to kill the last remaining safeguards in a bill that will harm millions.
Human dignity, freedom, equality: this vote betrays the very values the EU claims to uphold.
Identity checks, surveillance, humiliation, violence.
In our new joint booklet with @enareurope.bsky.social we document how racialisation operates at and through Europe’s internal borders - with testimonies from the Basque Country, France/Italy, Germany, Croatia.

Last week, civil society organisations, advocates, activists and progressive politicians gathered to say no to the EU Deportation Regulation - right in front of the European Parliament.
✊🏿✊🏽✊🏻 We had to come out too.
This law is about scapegoating undocumented people for problems our leaders won't solve - from climate change to collapsing welfare systems.
Help us put humanity, solidarity and common sense back on the table.

The European Parliament will vote on this law in the next days.
Help us stop this:
The draft text also requires member states to deploy broad detection measures, which could take the form of mass surveillance, racial profiling, immigration raids and reporting obligations.
The EU Deportation Regulation ushers in a dystopic detention and deportation regime, with people being sent to countries they don't even know. It imposes harsh sanctions on people living with irregular status, limits access to national permits and will ultimately increase irregularity.
The European Parliament is about to vote.
📢 Let's make our voices heard.

Days ago, in Ravenna, Italy, police raided a hospital and launched an investigation against doctors who refused to ok immigration detention for undocumented people, citing health reasons.

Home raids. Mass surveillance. Racial profiling. With 80+ organisations, we're opposing the new EU Deportation Regulation.
The proposal would expand immigration raids + surveillance and turn public spaces + services into tools of immigration enforcement.

🚨 Top UN human rights experts have signed a letter to EU institutions denouncing human rights risks in the EU Deportation Regulation.
This is a damning condemnation of a draconian measure that sees and treats migrants as a threat.

We hope more governments will follow this example and invest in policies that protect, empower and include people, and make societies stronger.
This move is a powerful reminder that regularisation is not only possible - it works, and it’s the right thing to do. For thousands of undocumented people who have built their lives in Spain, this could mean dignity, stability and access to basic rights.
Applicants must have been living in Spain for at least 5 months, with various documents accepted as proof, and must not have a criminal record. The measure does not require approval by the Congress.
Successful applicants would get a one-year residence permit, after which they would be able to access a permanent one.
