Yes! Autocomplete make those errors increasingly likely!

Definitely that's a great way to handle being stuck! Hopefully by the time you're up against a deadline, you won't get stuck...

LOL! I sometimes start some plotting notes (or occasionally even write a few chapters - I like to put a teaser for my next full novel in my novellas) but mostly my new idea lives in my head until I finish my current project.

That's good to know - one reason I haven't tried is I figured it would sound very "computer." I do find it helpful to read my books outloud myself.

I haven't tried read aloud mode - do you find it works well?

I realized answering this question how many of my romances are triangles to some degree - even if they fairly quickly resolve into lines in many cases.

But you don't actively start plotting that idea out until you're finished with your WIP?

Ditto on adverbs! In a Regency historical I find myself searching for "quite" and "in truth."

Complicated romances are fun!

M: I wouldn't be so confident I needed more filler scenes if it weren't for the fact that my novella is 42 pages. I probably just need to make my current scenes longer though.

Yeah it's interesting how that can shift as one's life shifts.

Sorry for the hard lifting but so important to keep trying!

M I have to agree LOL.

M :Cool! T: M and I love following (and discussing) favorite tv shows (and books).

I love the rearranging part of edits (which may have something to do with why I write out of order).

I definitely think plowing through is essential to finishing a first draft!

M: oh I love that! I love find ways to efficiently procrastinate.

M: typos, continuity errors, and any scenes that don't work (as in need to be rewritten entirely or cut). T continuity errors, the timeline - and typos! #momswritersclub

Q.6 #momswritersclub A last pass through a manuscript is exciting and nerve wracking. What do you focus?

6 days ago 3 0 2 1

T: I love to write triangles, though as with M they often turn into squares or knots because I don't want to leave the third person alone. In a series, this results in a number of couples in which one partner is the ex of a partner in another couple. #momswritersclub

M: I've only ever written a line, but it would be fun to try a triangle, though it would probably escalate into a knot pretty quickly, because I'd feel bad for the third person. #momswritersclub

T: I'm in several discussion groups for series (Dorothy Dunnett, Laurie King's Mary Russell series. And a reader started a GoodReads group for my series, which is really fun. I love getting feedback and posting teasers. #momswritersclub

M: I made one! I make YouTube videos about the Supernatural Investigations series by B.B Alston. I get a lot of comments saying they're grateful I make videos about it since literally no one else does (I'm not even kidding). #momwritersclub

Q.5 #momswritersclub This one is from Mélanie. If you write romantic relationships, do you prefer lines (2 people, conflict is between them), triangles (2 people in love with the same third person), or knots/squares (multiple people in love with different people, leading to endless complications)

6 days ago 4 0 4 1

T: a bit of both. In a first draft I sometimes write a lot to get to the point and then cut. But I also realize I've left scenes out. And I inevitably layer in descriptions. M: Definitely underwrite. I'm very bad at coming up with filler scenes. #momswritersclub

Q.4 #momswritersclub Do you follow online discussions/groups for books/series you enjoy? Do you have any for your own books? Would you like to?

Q.3 #momswritersclub Revisions often involve cutting and adding. Do you tend to overwrite and then need to cut in the the revision process? Or do you underwrite and need to flesh things out as you revise?

6 days ago 3 0 2 1

M: I work on multiple projects at a time so my next project starts when i get another idea brainstorming for one of my current books. T: usually as I'm in final edits when my current book isn't as creative anymore. I'm starting to think a bit about my next story now. #momswritersclub
