For too long, bureaucracy kept 7 child care centers across our city empty — spaces that should have been alive with laughter instead collected dust.

We've run through that red tape. This fall, all 7 will open their doors, bringing an additional 240 free 3-K seats & real relief to working families.

Almost 40 years in the making, inaugurated overtly by the "Reagan Revolution" the anti-tax pacts, the local focus and organizing from schoolboards to city councils to county commissions, state legislatures, feds... Agency, for sure! And not overnight.

Sobering and thought-provoking.

Spent Saturday with President Obama and New York's Cutest — turns out my first name is Mayor and I need to be doing more squats. 

Here’s to building a City where families can thrive and every classroom is full of this much joy.
