For All Mankind: at this point I kind of want Ed Baldwin to kick it because he’s an insufferable ass.

Time travel but it’s like Gozer in ghostbusters and takes the form of the first thing you think of. Did I stop some great tragedy? Did I somehow make myself rich? Nah, I just went back to Scampi’s Organ Palace and saw young me with my aunt and cousin when that was a thing.
Working on a live guitar/band version of one of my originals that is all synths on the recording. The cool part is that figuring out how to transfer a synth part onto a guitar leads to really cool guitar parts. However, it’s also TRICKY AF.
WOOHOO. 5 more VO scripts coming my way. I love voice work.
Wanna DO SOMETHING? Anything? The 5 calls app is a great starting place if you feel lost.
How much do I love the moon? Well let me ask my levitating moon lamp.
It did not respond. But a lot.
Not gonna lie, I was pretty proud of this one I posted in a giveaway group.
This reprieve of spring coolness is GIVING ME LIFE. #ATX
How weird and random that while 99% of the time I HATE photos and videos of myself, there’s a few moments in my recent silly “Take a picture of yourself” video where I’m like “Hey that ain’t bad.” Take those wins where you find them!
I contain multitudes.
If you need a good beard/body/head trimmer, I've been through a few and I LOVE my new Phillips MG9575/49. Strong motor. More attachments than I would ever need. Well built and hefty feeling. (Not a paid ad, I just like sharing stuff I dig.)
“The Rest Is Science” podcast finally explained “The Monty Hall Problem” in a way my brain understands. I finally get why it’s always better to switch doors when given the opportunity.
I love "For All Mankind" but 2 things are kind of bugging me this season. Joel Kinnaman very much seems like an actor "acting old" and whatever they do to his lips in some scenes with the old age makeup makes him looks like he has no lips like Odo in Deep Space Nine.
I can’t decide if my new song should be first person (“I’m waiting for her to walk in”) or second person (“You’re waiting for her to walk in”). Not an actual lyric, just an example.
Which do you think would be more engaging as a listener?
My silly song I posted the other day about preheating the oven has now turned into a real song in the works (not about preheating the oven). It’s been a couple of years I think since my last release!
I think allergies are piledriving me. Low level headache and I just took today as a “bed day” to just sleep as much as humanly possible.
Many years ago I got an app called “Knots 3D” because it had a special where it was free and that seemed very handy to have a visual encyclopedia of knots and how to tie them. I’ve never used it. But when the day comes, I’M READY.
For example I got heathallyn (at gmail) just so no one else could grab it, but that is not the email address I use. I chose something that wouldn't be obvious and easy to figure out and I have certain addresses at my personal domain forward to it.
I don't know if it's smart or egotistical and deluded (or maybe all the above) but I often think about "future proofing" things in case I get super famous. I always have.
REMEMBER: tomorrow is "Don't believe anything you read because everyone thinks that just lying to people is witty and funny" day!
Pulled over to record a voice note of a song that’s gestating in my head. I wasn’t sure how I wanted to finish the last line so at the moment it’s “Something something something.”
I was closing the 12-string up in its case when out of nowhere this song asked to be played in my head. Also it’s really hard to sing high and quietly because you don’t want to disturb the neighbors.
Random memories.
Dear media, stop reporting anything Rob Schneider says as if it matters or has any significance whatsoever.
I think that is both a good sign and also kind of a little amusing that I just got a little bit choked up performing one of my own songs.
I think you have to really believe in your own original music (which I do) because it's a lonely road. The majority of the time it feels like no one else but you has any interest, and just trying to figure out what to do with it feels like figuring out how to go to the moon.
More days than not my brain comes up with random characters and scenes. 95% of the time they get sent to @brianvillalobos.bsky.social as voice messages. 5% of the time I post them on the internet.
I feel like "Leaky Anus" sounds like an old Irish name. But probably spelled "Leaghey Anhgus."
I saw a thread talking about Spielberg being the king of "Oners" (long single shots) and all I can think of is "The Oneders!" from That Thing You Do.
