PLEASE I don’t know what I’m going to do when my SE starts failing, there’s literally no currently available option that is comfortable for my hands!
Also please a return to Touch ID, I want that and not Face ID

Thank you! Turns out I already own the first Magpie book (& Secret Lives of Country Gentlemen) so I could always start by looking in my own ebook collection 😂
We have a brand-new romance/mystery bookstore here called Partners in Crime (chef's kiss) so I should also see what KJ Charles they have!
I have LOVED the two KJ Charles books I've read (Proper English and All of Us Murderers) so I will take this opportunity to ask you what I should read next instead! (I don't think the taxidermy stuff would bother me as much but there are SO MANY to choose from!)
They have lots of series on things like geography, science, food, history, pop culture, etc., and I think that's what got me to subscribe, I'm actually learning interesting things that are being taught to me in Spanish.
BUT they've been using AI backgrounds & images in their videos which I hate. I still decided the value to me is enough that I joined as a paying member (there's a ton of free content but way more locked to members). Use their website instead of YouTube to get progress tracking even as a free member.
I haven't heard of Fluent Forever so I'll look at that! I really like Dreaming Spanish & think the idea behind it is good (spend a long time listening before you start doing anything else) and their videos are done from people from a lot of different countries so you get a whole range of accents
Oh no!! I hope you get in but if not maybe it's the universe telling you to try the soda firing class at Lillstreet or something else different for the summer? (It looks like Lillstreet hasn't posted their summer classes yet)
Aww if you were still in Chicago I could show you what I know about leather bookbinding or we could take classes at the leather school together! (If you're ever back in town and want to do either of these things lmk)
Ooh I started casually working on studying Spanish a few months ago, pretty much just using Dreaming Spanish right now, what are you using?
This weekend I made the purse that I drafted and tested last weekend. My sewing machine hated the flocked novelty fabric I made this out of so everything about the strap is a mess and there are some places I'm going to have to fix or reinforce by hand but it came out ok!
Ahh yay! I learned a ton when I took it!
The author is such a good teacher! Did I already point you to her Etsy store when we talked about her Tatter classes? Because she has another self-published book about hand-sewing and a bunch of zines there. www.etsy.com/shop/LouisaM...
Holy shit I think this 56 second YouTube video just fixed the crooked blinds problem I've been living with for years (and thought was a me problem and not a blinds problem, tbh)
Oh I keep meaning to tell you, my book club read this last month at my suggestion - which I suggested because you had recommended it - and it was a big hit in spite of it being pretty different from what we normally read!!
Omg
(I would need it to be closer to me and I’m sure I couldn’t afford it but I so desperately wish I had a studio space)
I have been there and I hope you get the sleep you need soon!!
I have to work and probably won’t be able to make it, but I’ll drop by if I can! Happy birthday!!
Side view of a muslin bag shaped like a lime wedge. There’s a zipper across the top.
Bottom view of the bag. It’s a single piece of fabric shaped like the rind of a lime wedge, narrow at the edges and wider at the base of the bag.
Interior view of the bag. One side has a zipper pocket and the other side has three open-topped pockets for holding a phone, small wallet, etc.
Some doodles and early math from before I drafted a pattern.
I think it’s incredibly cool that I’ve learned enough about bag making and pattern drafting that I can say “I want a bag that’s shaped like a lime wedge” and just sit down and make a pattern and have it actually work
(This is just a muslin/proof of concept, I didn’t bother with a strap)
Oooh, me too, high five!
Oh my god neeeeeed.
Happy birthday!!!
So much love to you. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
The outside of a slate grey purse. It’s made of waxed canvas with a leather strap. It’s slightly wider at its zippered top and narrows a little toward the base. Technically we’re looking at the back of the purse here but it’s identical on both sides.
A view inside the purse. It’s lined with off-white canvas. The front interior of the bag has a pocket the width of the bag, subdivided so that it can hold a phone, a couple of pens, and a small wallet.
A view inside the bag, showing the other side of the interior. This side has a grey patch pocket. It’s made of the same fabric as the outside of the bag although the lighting makes it look a lot darker.
I think I basically only post here now when I made a thing but here’s a bag I finished today!
It’s a mix of two Klum House patterns, it’s basically an Alberta bag but modified to use a Fremont style strap, and I added extra pockets.
I’ve been trying to figure this out too!
Yes!! So much of what I read these days is from my friends posting here about books they liked & reposting author posts about those books!
(I just finished A Bloomy Head which I think was because you’d posted/shared author posts about it? Anyway it was really good!)
I love this so much!!!!!!
Hi friends, my amazing friend indi is figuring out what her life is going to look like after having been full-time caregiver for her mom for the last 13 years. If you have anything to spare, she and her sweet dog Josie could use some help. ❤️
Noted!!
Oh no I'm going to have to try this
Was it at Jewel?
