I had issues with the first book. It was written as if it was going to be a stand alone book and then a few chapters before finishing Sanderson decided to make it a trilogy.

The second book has been a lot more consistent in the plot line. Zane is an exceptionally well written character.

I re-read Harris and Me by Gary Paulsen. Honestly, it's my favorite Gary Paulsen.

Last year one of our local crossing guards would use the money she earned from being a crossing guard to buy all kinds of costumes. It seemed like she had a new costume every day. Driving by her was a good way to start the day.
