Hi Sarah! I have used loose parts with Kindergarten to Grade 2 students for a few years now. I start with Kindergarten after the winter break. Model and review expectations every visit. Talk about germs and that they don’t go in pockets b/c it’s stealing. They are really good with them.

What does beauty look like? Friends playing in the snow! Rainbows and playing in the grass! After reading “Because You Are” by @jaelrichardson.bsky.social, Kindie artists created beautiful pictures using loose parts today in the library. Such creativity!
Better late than never! Read our first #ForestofReading #BlueSpruce book “Asha and the Toymaker” today by Sakshi Mangal. Grade 1/2 class decorated toy trains and rocking horses with loose parts! Beautiful creations!

Today is the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women.
Thirty-four years ago today, 14 women were murdered and another 10 were injured at École Polytechnique de Montréal.
All because they were studying engineering.
All because they were women.
