oh that would make a lot of sense!

it has a low speed license plate. how long did it take
ok i have a question, how did a golf cart with a virginia license plate end up in manhattan? a friend and i saw this on a coffee break today.
Really cool that NYC DOT gave up on Court St north of Schermerhorn. Just biked down it from the Brooklyn Bridge and the whole way was fully double parked making traffic one-lane anyway.
Hard not to be radicalized towards a car free lower Manhattan when you're standing outside a breakfast place waiting for your friends and it's just so many unnecessary cars and idling cars making the air smell bad
it is approximately 348739577 times easier to build separated single-family homes on large lots than dense, multifamily housing in pokopia, a reflection on american building codes. in this essay i will
NY is considering SEQRA reform.
If you’re unsure about whether reform is needed, I urge you to … *read* environmental reports for new housing. It’ll radicalize you.
For most reports, a huge part of them is either obvious, irrelevant, or counterproductive.

It's notoriously hard to get housing built in New York. Let's get a modern review process in place to build the middle- and low-income housing we need for the future of our state.
I cheered when I watched it.
And, later, in 1961, God delivered unto Andrew Berman the little known 11th Commandment: Thou shall never build a new building from Canal to 23nd, running from the Hudson to Lafayette.
Urbanization is anti fascism
"Modernizing SEQRA as part of the state budget would ensure that we can deliver on Mayor Mamdani’s affordability agenda quickly, while preserving important safeguards and real environmental protections." 🙌 www.nydailynews.com/2026/04/04/e...
Finally catching up on the peak-COVID era episodes of This Is Uncomfortable from @reema.bsky.social @marketplace.org. Highly recommend.
On the roof deck of Silph Tower, I've added two surface lights on the top surface near the wide row of string lights - together, these lights make Ditto's iconic face.
you: *spends hours time traveling to rebuild the pikachu fountain until you get a ditto face*
me, an intellectual:
Leafeon in Pokopia says: "If everyone gets a home that's just perfect for them, d'you think they might stop squabbling over territory?"
Let's all give Leafeon a warm welcome to the pro-housing movement!
Love The Post's disingenuous use of distance. 2 miles is like 40 blocks. No one in NYC thinks these things are close together.
i really hate it when people use the euphemism "spicy" for when people choose to behave out of line.
hard agree!
New Yorkers need more housing and we need it yesterday.
I'm proud to announce Neighborhood Builders, a new program to rapidly speed up affordable housing creation on City-owned land.
The Vanderbilt Ave open street is a highlight of my year every year! If you can spare a little, please help support the Prospect Heights Open Streets organizers manage operations: givebutter.com/c/vanderbilt-avenue-open-street-is-back-for-2026-xpedp3/members/lizdenys
Wearing a mask when you're sick and going to the doctor so you don't spread known disease is the absolute bare minimum, but since our expectations are literally in hell since propaganda has been manufacturing consent to get infected for years, even doing that is a major improvement.
but also it can both be true that masking in more places is better than masking in fewer places AND the fact that most people don't mask in most public indoor spaces makes those spaces less accessible.
I don't have a lot of energy to talk about how wearing a high quality N95/KN95/KF94/etc mask in public spaces makes those spaces for more accessible for folks who need to be more careful about getting sick because it is wildly, deeply unpopular to speak about...
Really great thread detailing how thousands of acres of forest can be cut down for mansions, but an afford apt building for seniors gets mired in red tape
you: you pulled that out of your ass
me, an intellectual: i invented it from first principles
Fundamentally, we see exponential benefits from many buses being improved than just a single bus. Similarly, we see substantially more benefit from a connected network of bike lanes separated from cars that all ages can use than a few miles or blocks here and there that don't connect.
I couldn't rearrange my schedule today to make it to the Council hearing on the streets plan, but reminder that we need both high quality bike and bus lanes AND to have an abundance of them. Every bus should run efficiently and reliably, and safe bike networks work best when they're easy to use.
not like i'm very good or present or whatever at social media to begin with, but
not around here very much bc social media is basically the main thing i can let go of when i'm deeply burnt out.
Because of how difficult it can be to find someone to clear snow, I find it difficult to believe that fines alone is really enough to create an accessible city.
Plus, plenty of other cities with more snow manage clearing sidewalks. We could, too, we just have to dream bigger.
