If you want them to be more intelligent, read them more fairy tales.” Fairy tales stimulate their imaginations and encourage critical thinking, not to mention presenting them with moral dilemmas, allowing kids to think about right and wrong, thereby learning valuable life lessons. For example, they might learn from Rapunzel here, how dumb it is to continue doing something stupid just because the person supposedly in charge tells you to.

I’ll bet not many of you have seen this drawing— we never used it for anything, I don’t think. But it’s one of my favorites and I have it framed in the playroom at my house.
