Iโve pre-ordered at least three of the new thingโs games.

Looking at the Gen/Mega Drive market, reprints really haven't done much harm to the value of original copies.
The people who want those original copies tend to stick their noses down at reprints, while people like me just want a physical copy period but would never pay crazy money for an OG cart.
As someone who's about to pre-order a $70 Genesis game... trust me, I know how much of a sucker I am. ๐
I'm really shocked at this point that Sega hasn't dipped their toe into the modern Genesis market. As much as they love pimping out their 16-bit games, they haven't actually done anything with either the console or new physical reprints (or dare I hope for new titles like Monster World IV) at all.
This is a super-niche product that has to have at least some costs to get up and running production-wise again.
From a modern perspective, absolutely, $90 is definitely a little high. From the perspective of someone who can finally get some of these games on cart after decades, $90 is amazing.
The console absolutely appeals to me, but I'm not in a position where I can justify it.
However, as an owner of an OG NeoGeo AES, I can absolutely justify those cart reprints. $90 to own some of those games is straight-up crazy. Twinkle Star Sprites alone is $1,000+.
If there is any single moment in game collecting where I could justify someone spending stupid money on something, it's that ultimate edition. The sheer awe of opening up that box would be something beyond belief.
It's 1996: Mollie is pre-ordering new releases for the Sega Genesis and NeoGeo.
It's 2026: Mollie is pre-ordering new releases for the Sega Genesis and NeoGeo.
I just went to Amazon and six of the games are already sold out. I grabbed a pre-order for MOTW (since I can always cancel later), but now I'm suddenly wishing I'd gotten on there in time for TSS and Shock Troopers as well. ๐
As someone who just picked up a SuperStation One, I'm feeling pretty ready to just use that for a lot of my retro needs.
But NeoGeo, with that gigantic console and the big-ass cartsโit just hits differently. Especially as someone who still remembers paying $250 for a copy of SamSho IV at launch.
I cannot stop laughing at the "$90 for one of these NeoGeo games? That's so expensive!" people.
For anyone who's actually been around the console for any length of time, $90 for a CIB AES cart that'll play in your console has you drooling like a hungry dog looking at a tup full of steaks.
I mean, I'm the type who gets excited for reprints of pricy Gen/MD games, but this is a whole other level. This is a chance to get cards you can play on new or old hardware for less than $100 a pop.
For us owners of actual Neo hardware, that's insane.
From my understanding, they're basically using a "program once" type of chip to make it think it's a NeoGeo, versus something with an FPGA where you can program it over and over.
So, In that regard, it should have the potential to be very good, so lone as they're using a good core.
This is the kind of batshit crazy that I love. This makes absolutely no sense in the most beautiful way.
And these new $90 game re-releases will work on my OG NeoGeo AES? C'MON MAN. Shock Troopers? Twinkle Star Sprites? MOTW? You're killing me here!
As someone from Godfather's Pizza's hometown, it's the GOAT chain pizza. Liked it but didn't love it as a kid, but now that I'm older, all the other chains have dipped in quality but they're still the same taste. When I had it again after a while a handful of years back, it was a punch of nostalgia.
Finally sat down to try Wanted: Dead last night, which I picked up on PSN for like $7. As the opening cinematic closed, I was hyped as hell.
30 minutes of gameplay later, I just shut it off. I love me some Japanese jank, but man was I miserable the entire time I was playing.
I'm mad, because they HAD classic Sonic previous, back when they might have been $4 or so. They only had him and Fang at that point. Today, they had a huge stack, but zero classic Sonic, one of the ones I'd most want.
Kids will be happy though, because they were wanting them too.
Also found a Flickr! But no retro Sonic which sucks.
Jakks Sonic the Hedgehog figures on clearance at Walmart for $1 each. Characters: Sonic, Tails, Amy, Fang, Mighty, Metal Sonic, Mecha Sonic
I couldnโt say no.
I'll admit, it took a lot of strength to not break down and order a physical Genesis copy of this new translation re-release (which just came out a while back).
"It's be neat to have on my shelf" thankfully lost to "I'm never going to play this mess."
I WOULD WEAR THE FUCK OUT OF THIS
I was really surprised that itโd break from such a short fall onto carpeting. So maybe there is some weakness there.
Absolutely! A world of gaming wonder awaits. So many awesome games on the platform. It really was a special little system.
Switch 2 right Joy-con with its analog stick broken off.
Well thatโs fun!
Dropped about a foot onto a carpeted floor. Thankfully already called Nintendo said they said theyโll just fix it.
I couldn't decide if I wanted the doc or not, but we'll see how I get along without full SNAC controller suppose and maybe pick one up from there.
I mean, at this point, a Twin Famicom Sharp might be a better investment than a Series S. ๐คทโโ๏ธ
I literally just saw, but thanks for letting me know! Seems like there's some sort of fix, so I'll have to look into that.
