You know how D&D is free therapy? Apparently so is making webcomics.

Probably because making webcomics, for me at least, is just solo D&D with no rulebooks or dice.

It's Bluesky, except there's nothing there but the bare bones CSS. Oh, and the notifications tab is gone on purpose with custom CSS in my browser.

I am so done with this Blanksky vibe coding.

The average PSD file size for my webcomic is ~180 MB. In Affinity Photo, it's 80 MB. In Pixelmator, it's 40 MB. And they all look visually consistent even though I have to use a new process to achieve it.

So whenever I'm emotionally ready to move on from drawing in CS4 on MacOS 10.12, I can do it.

I can also make my webcomic pages in Pixelmator. However, that app has a problem with its "random" noise generator. It's not random at all. It's the same noise every time the filter is applied. That's ridiculous.

Affinity Photo has the same problem, but I found a workaround with Procedural Texture.

If I make my webcomic pages in Affinity Photo, they'd be 100 MB smaller than the PSD versions. I only have to sacrifice the vector elements I use for dialogue balloons and panel borders.

Oh, and I have to mentally adjust to a seven letter file extension instead of three. That's the bigger hurdle.

Two-ish hours of drawing hands because I was getting frustrated at my inability to draw hands this morning.

I finally figured out why I have a death grip with my old iMac/Cintiq setup but not on my Mac Mini or iPad...

The old Mac lacks line stabilization, so I have to do it manually. And it kills my hand.

So I'll just add that to the stack of reasons why I need to find a newer app to draw my comics.

I've been somewhat consistent with my webcomic updates in taking a break for a week every month. That means I only get 40 pages done in a year (if I'm lucky) instead of 52.

But it also gives me time to draw other things besides my webcomic.

Like my other comics.

I accidentally clapped when the plane landed. But the plane did go to the moon and back, so I'll give myself a pass. This time.

It's perfectly normal to be grouchy about a botched online order. Shouting into the ether about it is one thing. But shouting at a person? Not cool. Don't do that.

Customer service is rough, y'all. I know because I've been there.

I've ordered lots of stuff through the Apple store and this is the first time it got screwed up. So in fairness, it's a pretty solid track record.

Getting it sorted out now.
