I think it’s HIGHLY unlikely that Illumination would disrespect Koizumi’s original vision.

Plus, with Peach and Rosalina originally planned to have some sort of family relationship, and with Rosa’s mom already resembling Peach, maybe this “recon” is just some more insight into the story?

Honestly I feel like people are jumping the gun with this as we don’t know what implications this recon will have on the actual games’ lore, if any.

Plus, the galaxy collection used to promote the movie still had the original storybook intact, just with extra bits of lore.
