Early this morning, a 16-year-old boy had to be rescued from a wooded area near Johns Hopkins University after he drove off the road at a high speed in a stolen 2012 Kia Rio.
The boy was taken to a hospital, per BPD. Once he recovers from his injuries, he'll go to baby booking.

Come for the story about a police pursuit that ended not long after a truck with bullet holes began ramming patrol cars in south Baltimore.
Stay for the details about a dice game, a ghost gun, and bad timing.

In one case, someone reported finding a man with gunshot wounds on their porch. Officers searched for evidence of the shooting in the immediate area and then checked to see if any of the other police districts were looking for a gunshot victim.
Five people were injured by gunfire across Baltimore between 9:30 p.m. on Thursday and 4:15 a.m. on Friday.
Overnight: Homicide detectives executed a search and seizure warrant at a house in East Baltimore in connection to a shooting that fatally injured Brandon Long, 40, in the 200 block of Key Highway earlier this month.
My understanding is that the officer was struck by a Taser prong while participating in a foot pursuit.
Here is audio clip of the Signal 13 in the 7100 block of Harford Road.

An officer has been hospitalized following a Signal 13 in northeast Baltimore.
There was a Signal 13 at the intersection of Cross Street and Charles Street a few minutes after 2 a.m. I rummaged through Broadcastify before going to bed to try to figure out what happened. I didn't imagine that it was this:

The center of the crime scene was in the 800 block of West Lexington Street. Evidence of the gunfire snaked through an alleyway next the corner store and ended with casings on the other side of Poppleton Place Apartments.
An officer examines blood spatter on the sidewalk near the intersection of West Lexington Street and North Fremont Avenue after a 51-year-old man was shot on Friday night.
This is a weird one. It sounds simple in the press statement, but it's not.
Additional evidence markers were added.
Came across some blood spatter outside of the crime scene.
Southwestern District detectives have shut down part of Poppleton Place Apartments to investigate a shooting.
This is one of those cases where no press statement would properly convey the complexity of what happened. Court records state that a man with an accusation shot a teen multiple times as he attempted to crawl away, and then his friends tried to avenge him.

BPD eventually confirmed that the shooting happened inside a house on the 1800 block of Wilhelm Street. A 49-year-old man and a 52-year-old man were injured. At least one of the victims ran, leaving a blood trail across Fulton Avenue.
People were asking who got shot. Word on the street was that the gunshot victims were named Dee and a Dre, or at least that was the gossip in my alleyway. People speculated that the crime was drug-related. You can hear some of that in this video clip.
On Monday night, Southwestern District detectives investigated a double shooting on McHenry Street. Detectives focused on a vacant house. Police later said the shooting happened inside a house. Notable: There was a quadruple shooting inside a house on this block in December.
Police have been looking for a man who escaped their custody this morning. Allen Johnson was at BPD's Sex Offense Registry Office when he managed to remove his handcuffs and leave the building. BPD says there is now an additional warrant for his arrest.
Pratt Street might be covered by the system, but the southern side of the harbor by the skate park may not fall under its electronic umbrella. That's a bit surprising given the amount of gunfire activity in the Inner Harbor area in recent years.

The ShotSpotter system doesn't cover all of Baltimore, only the center of it. So, there won't be an alert for gunfire in Govans, but there will be one for Johnston Square.
I figured the system covered the harbor area. There was no alert for the Key Highway shooting, though.
I spent this afternoon listening to police react to the overnight shooting on Key Highway because I slept through it. One of the first things that jumped out at me is that officers were responding to reports of gunfire, not a ShotSpotter alert.

Police are searching for a silver 201 Hyundai Accent stolen from Hampden. They put a BOLO out for it this afternoon. I have to wonder if that's the same car that was used to commit overnight crimes in Greektown. Well, at least one full-on crime and multiple attempted crimes.
There was a ShotSpotter alert for seven rounds at 114 N. Schroeder Street and seven rounds at 101 N. Schroeder Street at 2:54 a.m. It was roughly an hour before police began processing the evidence of gunfire, which included a car at a local hospital.
