This Is Just To Say

I have turned off

Fuck you

I assume this is just a flimsy attempt to get people to say "no wait, I guess I DON'T hate that movie more than anything else I've ever seen" but I don't think it's going to go the way he thinks

Welcome to #LesbianVisibilityWeek. All sapphics and girl kissers have debuffed stealth and perception this week.

To compensate, some lovely authors (self-included) have a pack of 94 sapphic and lesbian books, zines, comics, and RPGs you can get for just $40.

Two hooded figures with lamps approach a moonlit, isolated cottage.
A woman answers the door.
We have come for the child, says the hooded figure
So soon? she asks
It is time, says the hooded figure.
The woman is distraught. We should never have got him a library card!
What is done cannot be undone, says the hooded figure
We couldn’t see the harm! We just wanted him to enjoy reading!
For most, it ends there, says the hooded figure, turning away and walking into the wilderness
Oh lord, What have I done! says the woman,
the child walks past her and out into the darkness with them.
Do not cry mother.
I am a writer now.

A digital illustration of two japanese lesbians flirting in a queer underground bar in the 80s. One of them wears a blue jacket, the other a suit, while in the background there's liquor and a multitude of little stickers and illustrations of lesbian and queer marks.

The full illustration I did for @taplingzines.bsky.social "We've Always Been Here"

The zine depicts queer couples throughout cultures and history and I had the honours of portraying a Japanese lesbian couple in an underground bar during the 80s✨

Not me suddenly becoming re-obsessed with my first ever decent novel attempt about a tabloid writer who investigates her sister's mysterious death and it keeps leading her to a local urban legend

If you're ever in the area of SE Wisconsin I highly recommend stopping by. It's not a large place but it's cozy and their food is top notch. Plus they hold 2 little markets each year: the book fair I just went to and a book/craft fair around Christmas

The entry way of The Final Girl. The bar is dimly lit and a mural of Ghostface can be seen around the doorway to the right which also features a neon sign that says "Hello, Sidney"

Oh yeah! I've been going there for about a year because that's where the library holds their horror book club. Everything is horror themed and the menu has gluten free and vegan options 😂 They also host regular drag shows and local punk and metal bands

It's one of my favorite places

Also, if it helps at all I just came from the local little queer horror bar's book fair and the people are clamoring for entertaining queer books by actual people. Everyone left with a stack of stuff

And *whispers* I've read a lot of those books and the people who love them were never going to be my audience because 90% of those books are for people who have never read a decent sentence in their life 🥴 So I don't sweat it even if I envy the money

It's no different than video games to me honestly. The studios say "ULTRA HD HIGH FRAME RATE AAA GAMES" but then Stardew Valley and Undertale break sales records for years. So yeah people are buying the booktok trends but there are probably just as many people looking for something better

I do not want to create an account or open a subscription I just want to buy a thing and never hear from you again why is this so hard.

my queer cozy horror THE LORD OF THE WOOD releases in July!

Arthur has never fit in at home except with his family (he's gay & autistic & doesn't know) getting lost in an enchanted forest & perhaps finding a new home in the Lord of the Wood

I have no capsule vending machine but I DO have a barely used patreon that I am resurrecting next month so I guess I'm putting these micro stories to work there

3 days ago 3 0 0 0

I want one but I'm not sure where to put it in the yard. So I'm sitting here like 🤔 Right now it's all just flat grass back there and I want to add plants and a sitting area in the future so I can actually USE it

3 days ago 0 0 1 0

Oh the only plant stuff I'm actually allergic to is whatever pesticide they must be using on alstroemeria now because if I touch that I get itchy and red within hours which is great when it's used in a lot of wraps 🙃

because CD players, walkmans, and VCRs usually fucking worked and did precisely what was asked of them without relogging in and syncing and re-entering passwords and getting confirmation codes and doing 2FA with out TV and phone and clicking a fake "remember me" box that's fucking why

Okay apparently it only costs like 200 bucks to get one of those capsule vending machines

Who wants to front me the money so I can make a capsule machine full of tiny paintings?

We visited @katherinemontalto.bsky.social’s haiku vending machine, currently on display at Whistler’s Daughter Books in Ferndale, MI.

We each got haikus. Here is mine. Each haiku costs fifty cents and you also get a piece of candy.
