when i first moved here, I had simultaneous adjunct gigs at CMU and Pitt and no parking privileges and I feel the same way….(and i have no trouble navigating downtown denver which literally shifts the downtown grid 90 degrees in the middle of things to make it more inscrutable)
Posts by Lisa might be a fool for/in April
six over-blossoming scarlet tulips planted in a ragged line with green leaves and stems
I think I might take these as my
inspiration and aim for a blowsy, shouty, vibrant month.
now that sounds like an absolutely perfect day!!! i will aspire to your level of self-care :)
that’s so interesting! i went to grad school in Texas and learned not to use jalapeños in salsa bc they lack depth of flavor. I don’t handle spicy very well, but i love the taste of habaneros, so that’s what i use most of the time
oh but i guess i got fooled by yours! excellent!
i think this might be an april fool’s article
village barber is the cutest thing i have ever seen
I think generally animé and other animated cartoons have successfully rewritten mythology…something like Avatar (Air Bender) has the same world building/revision of Tolkien….and I think we’ve rewritten/exploded many romance tropes pretty well too
yep. and then long after the crocs are gone you may need to keep them, says the weary protector of Octonaut thingys
Yeah, a signature is a weird justification…like if it weren’t for needing *that* it would definitely be shorthand (y’know, for kids!)
when my teen found out that the thing she was doing has a name, she was gleeful. Not a personal failing, not the only one…just another adhd experience. plus the name really works for anyone with even a hint of a pda profile 😂
Sigh. One of my breakthrough notifications is The Teen, who likes to write 5 words or less (usually rather impolite requests with almost no context). I may have to revoke her breakthrough privileges :)
i am glad i voted for malcolm kenyatta in the primary, but/and jfc fetterman is a bleak abyss of a human being
on reddit, some posters who seemed knowledgeable about such things said that this happens regularly on unencrypted channels even though it carries a hefty FCC fine. Allegheny County seems to be an oddity for its heavier use of unencrypted channels (also uses encrypted ones of course)
oh good. it looks lovely. i am sorry for your loss and i am glad she was such a vibrant part of your life
I ended up putting a photo of my cat on the table by the front door so I wouldn’t go looking for her. It was there until I moved, and some people thought it was weird that i had a death portrait of my cat, but i understood the custom much better after that and it helped a lot
just imagine what they’ll call it if you put it over long pasta
cheez whiz on almost burnt toast
my kiddo was like that then and now…big development stages would make her Very Hungry, after which she would beanpole a bit (in every developmental way)…and now in the teen phase all the “good” food disappears between 10pm-1am.
my mom was from Liverpool and the place-memory in her neighborhood was verrrry long, too…Pittsburgh reminds me of that…just a village with a long memory
It is so funny and also the best. And, regardless of accents, one of the things I love about The Pitt (esp the first season) is how well it captures how ordinary-in-a-good-way the people are.
TBH Goleta, CA was the worst for “the place formerly named x” or “where there used to be…,” but Pittsburgh is the first place I’ve lived where people still describe my house as “Y’s old place.” I’ve been here 10 years.

if they are medium or large and you are in a medium to high priced restaurant, definitely yes.
GO BACK IN THE CAVE. IT WILL PASS
I guess we should place bets now for whether it makes it into S3 of The Pitt
there have been 4 or 5 wrong way highway crashes/incidents in or near Pittsburgh over the last few days and that seems very statistically anomalous….even for Pittsburgh
learning all the dance moves from the bad bunny half time show…crashing the house party HURT
ahhh. now that i can happily contemplate. and congrats on your amazing growns
(and yes i am taking double credit for terrible correct grammar)
