Starfield Free Lanes update lowered CPU utilization on my R7 7700 from 45-50% to 30-35%. The interface feels more responsive too.
My electric company account number is 5 letters (all caps) and 14 digits. This is 1.188 sextillions of unique numbers. Enough to open 118 accounts for every human, every other mammal, every bird, every fish, AND every insect on Earth.
Midalidare 2026 festival lineup with Bad Religion, Powerwolf, Helloween.
This year’s Midalidare is going to be fire!
I was afraid my Lenovo Yoga Pro laptop was dying so I installed Fedora 44 Beta on it and stress-tested it for the whole weekend. It works absolutely flawlessly, not a single hiccup. Gnome 50 is the smoothest DE ever. Hardware-wise, it seems my laptop is dying slower than anticipated, just like me.
My favorite ls alias is a CAt!
alias l=‘ls -CAt --group-directories-first’
C is for columns!
A is for all!
t is to sort by modified time!

…only 1200 “pixels” horizontally and many modern sites would expect at least 1240, they will feed iPad or mobile version to Neo; 3) the trackpad is still better than the trackpads of PC crapbooks, but the better PC laptops have better trackpads now.
I almost bought a MacBook Neo yesterday. Thankfully, my bank blocked my card.
MacOS 26 is crap, but tolerable. Hardware is great, but not without a few flaws: 1) it opens to about 140-ish degrees max; 2) at it’s default 2x resolution everything is super tiny but it’s still cramped, because it is…

Ignoring elephant in the room is the neurotypical superpower.
500 hours is the mark at which you consider starting the main quest in a Bethesda game.
So, the new Starfield DLC pet is the Milliwhale Filterer from Nesoi, Olympus system, which is also the best location for your first outpost: +25°C, 21% O2, plenty of useful resources, and the angry fauna is relatively scarce and drops adhesive.

My favorite online radio station RadioBob.DE has launched a new stream: Gaming Rock. This is how it looks like.
It doesn’t say “hide dollar store boxers”, though.
Back in May 2022 I left my old Intel 335 180Gb SSD which I was using daily since 2013 in the drawer and forgot about it. It stayed there, unpowered, for almost four years. Today I finally put it into a external enclosure and was surprised to see all the data perfectly readable.
My first PC with Pentium 100MHz was 1800 € in today’s money. My first laptop with single core Pentium M was 2140 € in today’s money. My very mid gaming PC with storage expanded to 4Tb market value is 2500 € right now. Thanks to AI, computers are expensive again.
A crow just left half of a walnut on the external part of the AC unit right outside my window. It is not much, but in this economy everything counts, I guess.
A desktop PC connected to a monitor displaying Steam’s Big Picture interface.
Installed Fedora 43, Steam, and a dozen of games on my new all-AMD gaming rig, and everything, absolutely everything worked perfectly right out of the box and didn’t require any extra settings besides personal preferences.
A snapshot of two Euro banknotes (20 and 10 euro) and a few freshly minted euro coins from Bulgaria.
I love how all cash looks crisp and shiny now. It’s been two weeks already, but I still haven’t seen a banknote that doesn’t look straight out of the press, nor a coin that doesn’t look freshly minted. The coins are all local, with Madara Rider, too.
Thanks to how well Linux handles sleep I just used `acpi -V` on the freshly woken laptop to check the room temperature.
This work year started with Windows 11 rebooting my corporate laptop for updates right in the middle of my first work day disrupting my workflow. I don’t know why this is normalized.
Wait, if it grows on trees it means wood elves can’t have it.
BSD not Linux. And they dropped the ball massively with macOS 26, unfortunately.
Cinnamon is the closest DE to Win 7. So Linux Mint is a great choice. Runs like a charm on old ThinkPads.
For Christmas and Birthday I bought myself MSI Claw 8 AI+, a Lunar Lake handheld PC. It runs Skyrim and ESO in battery saver mode at 55+ fps and Starfield and Avowed on full power at 40+ fps. It seems my new year resolution is 1920*1200.
It’s called Starfield.
I would highly recommend at least using OpenMW or just DIY remaster it with Total Overhaul modlist from modding-openmw.com
This Christmas I learned in the not so hard but rather time-consuming way that OpenMW doesn’t play well with Intel drivers, at least on Lunar Lake, even on Windows. Total Overhaul modlist runs literally order of magnitude faster on Linux with comparable AMD chip.
