Besties, quick reality check! EPA says they’re absolutely cooking on PFAS protections…

Twin, that’s CAP! The safeguards that keep these “forever chemicals” out of our water and food are actually getting rolled back.

And if you ask us?

That’s a flop.

Respectfully, EPA, negative aura points.

Unsafe Water and Unanswered Questions: A Tale of Two Communities — Safe Water Engineering I’ve spent nearly two years working with two communities facing very different contamination issues, yet their experiences with those in charge are disturbingly alike.

Cahokia Heights and JBPHH residents want what any community wants: dependable, safe water, and the ability to trust those in charge. That starts with rigorous sampling protocols, published water quality data, and real discussion of risks and response. www.safewaterengineering.com/hottopics/un...

Surprisingly, high quality communication is essential for safe drinking water. Ensuring residents are informed about infrastructure issues and water quality is fundamental to water utility compliance. And god forbid our water utilities continue to operate when climate change undermines systems.

Sounds like a bunch of whiny children took over drinking water at EPA. Doing their best to mock a program created by the previous administration while doing nothing to substantially change the program. Just a childish rename and restating goals. #safewater #soundslikescience

“This feels like a targeted effort to remove advisors who prioritize science, data, transparency, and the needs of communities dealing with unsafe water.”

Interesting that Highland Park has to document reductions to prove them while Dearborn earns larger reduction estimates for "progress towards long term matters"

EPA ousts water council member who signed dissent letter Elin Warn Betanzo had been barred from participating on the panel pending the results of an investigation into her "potential signature on a petition."

The EPA has removed me from the National Drinking Water Advisory Council for signing a public declaration asking EPA to commit to using good science in its policy making.

This should concern all of us.

Hazardous H2O: Lead Safety and the ‘Hidden 10 Percent’ - Truthdig In Cleveland and other cities, the worst cases of lead exposure in drinking water are obscured from public view thanks to a decades-old federal rule.

"By primarily conducting tap samples in houses with no lead service line or service lines that are partially lead on the city side, Cleveland’s data does not accurately represent the lead concentrations residents are likely being exposed to."

Can anyone provide thoughts on safety of air travel right now as a result of firings at the FAA? Is it peak chaos right now that will right itself, or is this as good as it's going to be for the next 4 years because it will be going steadily downhill? I'm trying to make travel plans.

We worked for over 30 years to get these requirements in place. This latest move would not only stop the new requirements to remove lead pipes from our drinking water systems but it would prohibit EPA from ever requiring it again.
