Besties, quick reality check! EPA says they’re absolutely cooking on PFAS protections…
Twin, that’s CAP! The safeguards that keep these “forever chemicals” out of our water and food are actually getting rolled back.
And if you ask us?
That’s a flop.
Respectfully, EPA, negative aura points.
Cahokia Heights and JBPHH residents want what any community wants: dependable, safe water, and the ability to trust those in charge. That starts with rigorous sampling protocols, published water quality data, and real discussion of risks and response. www.safewaterengineering.com/hottopics/un...
Surprisingly, high quality communication is essential for safe drinking water. Ensuring residents are informed about infrastructure issues and water quality is fundamental to water utility compliance. And god forbid our water utilities continue to operate when climate change undermines systems.

Sounds like a bunch of whiny children took over drinking water at EPA. Doing their best to mock a program created by the previous administration while doing nothing to substantially change the program. Just a childish rename and restating goals. #safewater #soundslikescience
Dismissed US EPA adviser laments agency's action on "bread and butter" issue, safe drinking water. Curious muted response.

“This feels like a targeted effort to remove advisors who prioritize science, data, transparency, and the needs of communities dealing with unsafe water.”

Interesting that Highland Park has to document reductions to prove them while Dearborn earns larger reduction estimates for "progress towards long term matters"
2nd member partner whose charges are different-
They had meters installed so reads from them changing charges
The EPA has removed me from the National Drinking Water Advisory Council for signing a public declaration asking EPA to commit to using good science in its policy making.
This should concern all of us.

Take a look at your school’s drinking water plant before you break for the summer.

"By primarily conducting tap samples in houses with no lead service line or service lines that are partially lead on the city side, Cleveland’s data does not accurately represent the lead concentrations residents are likely being exposed to."

Can anyone provide thoughts on safety of air travel right now as a result of firings at the FAA? Is it peak chaos right now that will right itself, or is this as good as it's going to be for the next 4 years because it will be going steadily downhill? I'm trying to make travel plans.
Are there more aircraft accidents than usual right now or just more media coverage?
These are the young people with energy and fresh ideas. The ones who help government adopt new technology, be more creative, and provide better services. Most just fresh out of training or school. These are the people we need in public service more than ever. www.washingtonpost.com/nation/2025/...
Detroit Water & Sewerage Department reported a 90th %ile lead level of 13 ppb—within compliance for 2024 but above Michigan’s new 12 ppb threshold for 2025.
1.2 million people live in the Metro Detroit communities with lead exceeding the new standard of 12 ppb

DOGE allegations of fraud are a smokescreen to cut programs they don’t like but don’t have the votes to cut in Congress. Don’t fall for it.

"There are many well-meaning water utilities and executives who want to provide the safest water feasible to their customers and do not support the extreme actions of AWWA and AMWA."
We worked for over 30 years to get these requirements in place. This latest move would not only stop the new requirements to remove lead pipes from our drinking water systems but it would prohibit EPA from ever requiring it again.
