Rehabbing an ankle right now since I deferred my spring 50 and didn’t have a fall race but now fantasizing about what I can gear up for in the fall …

#raciolinguistics friends. Hear me rage (politely via academia) about how people mispronounce my name. Excited to be in this book edited by Qianqian Zhang-Wu and Bridget Goodman. Come hear from some smart people.
Yay! Excited to be a part of this esteemed group and the National Book Award for Youth Literature with @davidbowles.us and others! www.instagram.com/p/DHGksh3Opx...
Woman smiling while wearing a t shirt that says “not today, colonizer”
This is for @joannahowrites.bsky.social wearing my “not today, colonizer” shirt in the land of my former colonizers 😂😂
Picture of street graffiti that says Free Palestine!
Tokyo street
Two images of the same sign. One translated from Japanese into English and one in original Japanese. Sign says the store is working to promote LGBTQ inclusive shopping.
In Tokyo for the marathon and love this LGBTQ inclusive sign I saw in the very large cosmetics section of a convenience/ drug store. Considering how East Asian is often portrayed as being more homophobic, this was nice to see.
My son is 15. One year younger than this child. My son is a 6’2” baby, not even close to an adult. My heart breaks for all involved in this. Two lives are now destroyed. When science repeatedly shows that kids’ brains are still developing into their 20s, how can we do this apple.news/A_b8YkCB4SB2...
Trump/Elon say these programs harm AsAms, but I’ve been in convo with AsAm students working with other students of color to defend their campus programs and student centers. Don’t believe the fascist trolls in the White House!
I’ve been following this story and it’s been breaking my heart. They’re saying it’s not a hate crime because his attackers were part of the LGBTQ+ community?! There are hateful ppl in all communities www.nytimes.com/2025/02/17/n...
Yes. The whole “new adult” format is not my favorite. Also 🤔👋🏼👋🏼👋🏼👋🏼 happy to see you here!!
We shouldn’t expect the youth to save us, but maybe they will save themselves (and us along the way. We don’t deserve them.
I pray every day for it. I don’t see another way out any time soon. That or the aliens.
#LITERACY folks. Talk to me about Stand for Children and Nell Duke's work with them and the Gates Foundation around literacy...is it hard core SOR or a little more balanced? I know Nell’s work is pretty balanced but wondering about it in context if Stand for Children…
I’m deeply disappointed it’s predicted (if happening) for 2032.
@hcodymiller.bsky.social I feel like you would appreciate this in particular
Screenshot of training module saying content is under review
Even better. Another module. This time on “avoiding group harms” 🫣
Screenshot of a CITI training module header that says the content is under review in light of recent executive orders
Refreshing my IRB certification and came across this in one of the modules…I don’t even know what to think about this. Trump has even impacted how ethical research is being framed/discusses 🤦🏻♀️
Senator Andy Kim just went to the USAID building, talked to the security guard there to confirm employees are being barred entry, and then did a press gaggle right there in front to call it out.
This is doing something. This is making an effort on messaging. Other Democratic lawmakers: take notes.
I hate making phone calls (even for pizza) but this is what we do to resist mow.
Done!
Nice! Someone from my town signed up.
Since I’ve divested from Meta, you folks get to see my running photos that would have gone to IG 😂 5 miles of tempo in cold rain. @vaughnwmwatson.bsky.social it was 40 degrees, within your range right? 😂
