I’ve read some of Alex Smith’s crime thrillers, and really enjoyed them. The protagonist (and the author) has kids around the same age as my son, so the silly nonsense they come out with struck a chord with me.
Yes please! 🙏
A photo of 26 books, mostly thrillers, bought in one day.
So, Hythe has a lot of places to buy second hand (and some new) books…
(I think I have a problem 🤣)

Ooooo, I’m intrigued. Haha!
Well, whatever you end up doing, I hope you’re happy doing it. At the end of the day, that’s what’s important.
Bought it. Sounds so good, I couldn’t resist! Haha!
I’ll happily donate any proceeds from book sales from now till the end of March (I’ll probably also throw in £50 on top).
I know times are hard, but if you can spare a few quid, I know it would mean a lot.

I’ll add it to the “buy if I find it cheap in a second hand bookshop” list.
I’ll try and watch Nope after I finish some freelance work (which I’m supposed to be doing now haha).
Your pulse shudders to a stop. The dark agony of death is replaced by a hollow, bright white nothing. There is no pain. There is no sound. In all directions, there is… nothing.

It really is. There’s an afterword that explains how big Hell is, and it’s terrifying.
I’ve seen people say they didn’t “get” it, but I loved it. I reread it recently, which is something I very rarely do. That’s how good it is. Haha!
Adding both of those to the list! Fingers crossed I won’t regret it. 🤣
I wholeheartedly recommend it. I’ve seen it be hit and miss with people, but it resonated with me massively.
Not sure if “favourite” is the right word for it, but Hell in “A Short Stay in Hell” has stayed with me ever since I read it.
A place so bafflingly large and repetitive it’s impossible to comprehend.

100%
Yeah, scaaary strength.
Exactly this!
Oooo, good question…
You know what, thinking about it now, no, I don’t use dreamscapes. The environment in my stories are real and mundane, and the weirdness comes from the body horror, or mental breakdown that’s sure to follow.

😳😳😳
Yeah, eerily similar. 😬😬
🤣 very true!
Hey all, it’s been a while since I’ve done one of these!
I’m Stephen, and I write mostly psychological and body horror.
As a child, I had a reoccurring dream where I was in a cage being attacked by a gorilla. Sounds silly now, but at the time, it was awful.

I’ve been away from socials for a little while and this is the first I’m seeing this. Saddened to hear it, but totally understandable.
Just bought your 2 novels on Lulu and will be proud to put them on my bookshelf.
Wishing you the best of luck in whatever your future holds!
Yeah, I think it’ll be next on mine, too.
Tempted to go with Sharp Objects, but I’d take a recommendation, too. lol.
A collection of 18 new books
It’s been a while since I went on a book haul… 💙📚
Same. I hate it. 😂
I tried to deactivate it, but I think you can only make it marginally less awful.
Yesterday, I finished reading The Book of Witching by @cjcookebooks.bsky.social
Reading the editor’s note at the end turns this book from a good one to one that will be hard to forget.
