Our team at People in Need North Macedonia support Vesna in her efforts by inviting her to a training session where she learned everything necessary about entrepreneurship and the circular economy.

Students in Vesna’s course:
• Collaborate with local businesses
• Sew using fabrics that would otherwise be thrown away
• Sell their creations at local markets
♻️ Vesna’s goal is clear: To show the younger generation that the circular economy is the path toward a future without unnecessary waste.
🧵 Meet Vesna, a teacher from North Macedonia. She sewed her first skirt at the age of nine. Today, she teaches young people how to give textile waste a new life.
In her classes, she teaches about the negative impacts of "fast fashion" and explains that old fabric doesn't have to be waste.
What does that look like in real life?
📍 In Luapula, trained paralegals are helping families reclaim stolen land.
📍 In Makumbi, volunteers are navigating long distances to ensure their neighbours can access water and education through government funds.
Stronger systems = Stronger communities. 🌍
Funded by the European Union through European Union in Zambia, our team at are working with 30+ Zambian CSOs to make them stronger from the inside out.
💬"We are no longer afraid—we know this land is ours."
In Zambia, local organizations are the first line of support for communities facing climate shocks, land disputes, and poverty. But who supports the supporters?
Therefore, the Zambian CSO PEACE has helped local people stand up for their rights and their land.
Our team supports organisations like PEACE in Zambia and help them with their daily operations.
In the village of Masaba, Zambia, many families were forced from their homes due to illegal mining.
🗨️ "Illegal miners set up on my land and chased us away. We are left with nothing and no means to do anything. We also have nowhere to live," says a local resident.

The Philippines remains one of the most disaster-exposed countries globally, where early warning systems are among the most cost-effective tools for reducing loss of life and livelihoods.
"Scaling this technology is about buying time for families at risk. We're ensuring that even the most remote communities have the actionable information they need to act before the water rises," says Pascal Arthaud, CD People in Need Philippines.
Backed by £125,000 through the GSMA Innovation Fund for Anticipatory Humanitarian Action, with support from the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, the project builds on a successful pilot in Mindanao and is now expanding to municipalities across Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.
People in Need Philippines and DOST-PAGASA have signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) to continue the STREAM–EWS project, expanding a proven early warning model to additional high-risk areas nationwide.
As flooding risks intensify across the Philippines, efforts to deliver faster, more localised, and accessible early warning systems are scaling up to reach vulnerable communities.

2/ We are documenting the reality of a ceasefire that exists in name only - and what that means for the Palestinians living under it. #CeasefireNOW
1/ This is what a ceasefire in #Gaza is like. Airstrikes before dawn. Waking up in a tent. No clean drinking water. Aid trucks turned away. One meal a day. Children out of school. Fear of what may happen in the night.
3/3 These efforts help children heal, strengthen resilience, and cope with trauma. Support our work by donating to our SOS Gaza Emergency Appeal:

1/3 In #Gaza, 2.1M people need protection & psychosocial support—including 1.1M children. Over 58,000 children have lost one or both parents. Even with a ceasefire, these wounds and an ongoing humanitarian crisis persist.

To help the farmers protect their health and livelihoods our team at PIN Cambodia with help from @adb.org helped implement solar-powered cooling systems on these farms.
🗨️ “Before, we felt tired and short of breath. Now, we no longer worry about the heat,” says Heng Thavy, a pepper farmer.
❓Have you heard of the famous Cambodian Kampot pepper?
We visited farms in Kampot Province where this world-renowned pepper is grown. Due to extreme droughts and heatwaves production of this crop and the health of the farmworkers have been imperilled.
