A meal fit for a famine Hunger in Gaza is making us long for food that reminds us of ordinary days. A bowl of thin lentil broth might temporarily fill the stomach, but not the soul.

It's maddening that experts have to spend precious time correcting mainstream media messaging! In fact The Times lied and the key message from the OBR (the UK's Office for Budget Responsibility) is as below. Read more here: www.carbonbrief.org/obr-net-zero...

Nobody should pay a license fee just to be fed right wing Zionist propaganda all day long.

Short-term, governments need to stand together to challenge this aggression. Long-term, they need to start working towards a fairer trade model, which stops prioritising the interests of big corporations, and starts putting ordinary people, here and across the world, first.

We don’t know whether these newly-threatened tariffs will come to pass, but we do know that they are being used to bully governments into handing even more of their sovereignty to some of the biggest corporations in the world.

Campaigners call for countries to stand up to Trump’s ‘economic warfare’ - Global Justice Now Responding to Donald Trump’s threat of new tariffs on 1 August against 14 countries, mostly in the global south, Nick Dearden, director of Global Justice Now, said: It’s another week […]

Our statement on Trump’s new tariff threats👇

It’s another week of bullying and bluster from Trump, threatening further economic warfare against a wide range of governments. Countries such as Bangladesh and Cambodia would be devastated by these tariffs.

Israeli plan for forced transfer of Gaza’s population ‘a blueprint for crimes against humanity’ Military ordered to turn ruins of Rafah into ‘humanitarian city’ but experts call the plan an internment camp for all Palestinians in Gaza

It’s a concentration camp. And it will be built in plain site, with effective assistance from western governments.

There is no red line. Only resistance will stop the genocide.

At 6 a.m missile hit, unlike anything I’ve ever heard.
The sound, the pressure, the vibration, it felt like it pulled the air from my lungs as it fell, whistling
No explosion. No clue where it landed
I still don’t know,
was it a missile? A suicide drone? A plane crash?
Just fear, raw and unanswered.

I hope not! Support for her as a person, her courage and care for others is surely not the same as supporting any organisation! I met Sue quite a bit a few years ago, and she is quite something!

Protesters gather outside court.

Protesters gather outside court.

Gathering for @palaction.bsky.social outside the Royal Courts of Justice for the emergency hearing to appeal the absurd attempt to proscribe them. Lots of police. Are they feeling a bit nervous?

That's not the point I am trying to make. Alongside doing our best to oppose the current British government's support for Israel, and acknowledge the awful colonial past, we have to look out for the changing layers of oppression and where they continue to arise. Watch the rich, and the corporations.

it's our job to re-educate ourselves, and speak out against what our government is doing. It's not that I disagree with you Jay, but I think that the mindset of the wealthy and powerful need to be challenged everywhere.

As another UK resident, I say British rulers and governments have done a lot worse than "screw up" the world. But the word "we" is problematic. The powerful did let some 'spoils' of the rigged global economy trickle down to ordinary 'brits', and indoctrinated them too think this was ok. Now

But Britain had an original stock of people and THEN THE VIKINGS TURNED UP, and the ROMANS TURNED UP. The last invasion was THE NORMANS, and they still own most of the land and power and continue to colonialise from this base. Ironic that the poor old ancient Britons get the global blame.
