Celebrated my daughter tonight and all she accomplished last week!! Dinner at Red Lobster with my parents (she’s super savage at cracking crab 🦀😳).

Followed by dessert, more wine and some pinball at our place!! SUPER fun night!!! 🍷

THAT’S my girl!! She was awarded Player of the Game in 2 out of 3 games at their tournament this weekend. She’s a BEAST on the court, so proud of her! 💪🏼🏀🔥🥰

Took a big chunk of today and put Xmas away. I usually wait another week or so but our next two weekends will be taken up by basketball tournaments.

Kinda nice to have my house back to normal. *happy sigh*

Making sure 2025 will be pho-nominal by starting out with Vietnamese dinner! 🍜

The only thing I keep track of over the years is how many new recipes I’ve tried and decided to keep.

I did pretty good this past year! 2024 saw me add 54 recipes to keep! Yum!! 😋

Made a fun breakfast of scrambled eggs, Nashville hot chicken & waffles with Xmas oranges. 😋

Plus we almost came home with a 4-month-old kitten…. We had seen one at a Pet Valu last week that needed a home… it’s probably a good thing she had already been adopted when we went back today… our other 2 cats probably wouldn’t have approved 🙀

The husband and I had an adventure this morning to find Polysporin ear drops for the boy. Thankfully it only took 4 stops (apparently there’s a shortage) and I didn’t even rage once! That’s a win!!

Okay. I think we’re ready. Finished the small amount of Xmas baking I’m doing this year and wrapped all the gifts.

Celebrating with a 40 Creek Butter Tart Cream whiskey infused coffee. Okay… it’s mostly whiskey…. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Took a quick browse of St. Vital mall tonight; it was surprisingly painless! Thought it would be wall-to-wall people accompanied by a ridiculous amount of rage!! Maybe 7:45pm is the magic time? 🤷🏻‍♀️

My parents decided that this is the last year they’ll be getting a real tree, going artificial for next year cause it’s too hard for my dad to set up with his bad knees.

Grateful that my son got to go with him to choose out the last one. 🥲🎄

SUPER PROUD MAMA!! First preseason tournament of her senior varsity year.

She’s normally a defensive player (6’ tall forward) but scored 24 points with an amazing number of rebounds, rejections and steals in the last game. Player of the Game FTW!!

We had to change the outside light fixture by our side door this weekend. Looking back, we maybe shouldn’t have installed a 100w lightbulb. Pretty sure it can be seen from space. 😎

We’ll be changing to a 60w once I can see again. 🤣

Husband and I seem to mostly be winging it for Xmas gifts for the kids.

They provided pathetic wish lists this year; for some reason it’s so much easier to come up with ideas for 17-year-old daughter than 18-year-old son. 🤔

LOL!! Oh, theirs is… plus they blow the snow off their damn vehicles too. Usually at either 6am or 10pm

Our Xmas tree had been up for a week, we finally found some time last night to decorate the darn thing. It’s lovely in here! 🎄

My daughter is ecstatic with how her grad photos turned out today, she brought a 🏀 as a prop for some of them and ended up with a photographer experienced in sports sessions 🥰

Tonight’s dinner: homemade Wisconsin cauliflower soup served with toasted cheese, lettuce & tomato sandwiches. 😋

Whew!! Lucky mama moment, turned the calendar early enough to check out what December is bringing… see daughter has an appt to get grad photos taken this Monday with enough time to book her a haircut. That’s a win. 🙌🏼

I totally LOVE when our neighbor uses a goddamn leaf blower to clean his massive driveway of the dusting of snow we got. NOT ANNOYING AT ALL. 👀 🤨

I’m doing my absolute best to! I LOVE watching her play, the smirk she gets on her face while battling in the key. It makes my heart happy! 🥰

It’s crazy!! It’ll be her last year… but when you combine the club team she plays for plus high school team, it’s 🏀 from August to the end of May. Almost nonstop!! I know I’ll miss it when she’s done… but wow!

Well then. Got my daughter’s varsity basketball practice/game schedule for the month of December. I now have free time on the 20th, 21st, the week of Xmas and the 31st. That is all. Giddyup 😬

It’s definitely a tradition they’ve enjoyed through the years!!

Oh man, Stitch is HUGE!!! My favorite 17-year-old daughter has a lanyard, stuffie, ornaments and jibbitz for her crocs! LOL!!

Every year since my kids were born they’ve chosen an ornament to go on their very own little Xmas trees. It’s neat to see their choices through the years for both of them!
