Rush: Grace Under Pressure by Hugh Syme
La Villa Strangiato
Excellent record. Moody and dark. Afterimage, Red Sector A, Kid Gloves, and Between the Wheels are highlights for me. I saw them at the Spectrum on this tour and it was soooo freaking good.
There’s a Dalmatian joke in there somewhere.
I bought a dehydrator on Amazon and got to making some delicious beef jerky. I use 92% ground sirloin. I’m currently experimenting with some different brands of seasoning. So far, so great!
Animate from Rush’s Counterparts record is a fantastic tune and one of their best live songs ever. youtu.be/f8ZC1K6SW4M?...
Celebrating the 50th anniversary of Rush’s iconic 2112 by spinning it on vinyl. Long live the spirit of #Rush!
Happy Trans Day of Visibility! 🏳️⚧️ The mere act of existing and being visible shouldn’t be as fraught as it is today. Let’s keep fighting to set things right.

For years I dismissed U2 because I hated the sound of their early records. It sounded like one crappy mic hanging in the center of the room. Later, I grew to really appreciate the Edge as an exceptional musician and Bono as an incredibly thoughtful, soulful singer and songwriter.
I love the instrumental band Ozric Tentacles. They rarely tour the US. Several years ago they played 10 miles from my home and I couldn’t find anyone to go with so I didn’t go. What a mistake. I should have gone alone. youtu.be/P03FPdXCisw?...
August 1, 2015 – Rush’s last show with Neil Peart. This picture is from mid-level in the arena, 45 degree side angle looking slightly down on the stage. Colorful green, purple, and orange lights are shining down and forks of golden fire are dancing in the air behind the band. The song they are playing is One Little Victory from the Vapor Trails album.
Exterior shot of the famous LA Forum in Inglewood, California. Round red building with white roof and columns. Blue sky and warm evening light.
I first saw Rush at the Spectrum in 1982 on the Signals tour. It was life changing. Other favorite tours were Grace Under Pressure, Vapor Trails, Snakes and Arrows, and R40. I was fortunate to have been at Neil’s last show at the LA Forum. Great memories.
KIX 40+ times
Rush 30+ times
It’s interesting to read the other comments here. People seem to like this record. I was listening to these guys when High ‘n Dry was their latest. Predictably, I don’t care for this bubblegum and lipgloss version of the band. White Lightning stands out above the rest.
I just watched Rush’s performance at the Juno Awards tonight and I don’t think I’ll be able to sleep now. Can’t wait to see them live in August! #Rush
The three dots for outs thing is maddening. For years I’ve been complaining about this to some friends at my RSN that does Phillies games. It’s NOT simply a design choice to use two dots to represent three of something any more than it is to intentionally misspell someone’s name. Help me understand.
I don’t get why they continue to represent three outs with two dots. It’s like misspelling someone’s name. It’s not a simple design preference, it’s actually incorrect. There’s plenty of space for a third dot. Other networks do it FFS.
Problem Child has an irresistible groove that made me want to play guitar as a teen.
This is my favorite Pink Floyd record. It’s a nice tidy listen compared to something like the Wall and the themes are clearly very personal. Sounds great too!
@snell.zone Listening to Downstream. You can watch multicam in replay on the F1TV app, which is free with your AppleTV subscription. Many more features there for tech fans. They also carried preseason testing from Bahrain which the AppleTV app did not. That was also free with your AppleTV sub.
It was fun rooting for you, Jason! You were up against some exceptional players. It was like a heavyweight fight when boxing was great. I felt humble and dumb watching the three of you trade haymakers.
One of the hardest working bands that never made it big. Their live shows were legendary. youtu.be/vOUFiKXRLpk?...
Robert Plant’s Now and Zen is a fantastic record from 1988.
One of the best pop records of the 1980s. It sounded so clean and modern at the time. Great songs and exceptional playing. An obvious and delicious part of Mutt Lange’s “hit hoagie.”
Be Like Mike is an unforgettable tune for me. Very catchy. youtu.be/b0AGiq9j_Ak?...
