Lovely visit up to the Lake District for my film screening of Britains Hidden Fishes had a look at Derwent Water thinking about the vendace swimming around and would of been rude to not visit a pub or to with the doggos. The bookshop in Keswick even had my fish book in which was nice to see.

Surprise catch when running my pond dipping course at Attenborough Nature Reserve yesterday a lamprey! This is a ammocete so the larval form and hard to tell but probably a brook lamprey. The gravel pits are connected to the Trent which is likely how it got in,

I've worked with Hammond Drysuits Ltd for well over a decade now and my custom drysuit is still going strong they provide excellent repairs and services when it needs it but to be honest the suit is tough as nails which is handy for all the river work I do can't recommend enough.

I met Jeremy Wade a charity fishing match several years ago to see who could catch the smallest fish. It was great fun and have since fished many times with him and it also lead to him narrating my film "Britains Hidden Fishes"

Chapter six of my book "The Great British River" is all about Chalkstreams as they are almost uniquely English. It's our very own Amazon and we are destroying this precious habitat with sewage pollution, abstraction and all the other ususal suspects for river damage.
