my biggest struggle about chilling in WoT fandom, tbh. lol and I know way less than you do!

I've played 4 three times now. ๐
every time. lol always the one I didn't phrase super carefully, too
I mean I think every DA game has great things about it and less great things, and any time anyone tells me all the later games were just bad I jump-kick them in the face. LOL
I both loved that message in DA2 and hated playing it. ๐คฃ DA2 had some amazing storytelling.
I feel like the fact that I got most of my Baby Fandom Drama Bitch out of my system in Star Wars during the prequel online fandom era saved me from wanting to engage in any of the subsequent battles, but there are times when a take so bad brings me out of retirement. ๐คฃ
I WILL SHOW UP IMMEDIATELY
I try very hard not to be combative about media on bluesky for all the reasons in my original thread, but the Dragon Age discourse breaks me sometimes and I come out jump-kicking folks in the face. lol
other gamers can rile me up like no one else.
I love that my bluesky following gives me the ability to do so much good in the world, and at the same time there are days when I'm In a Mood and I think "literally no one should let me say whatever I'm thinking to 20k+ people... or let me read what they want to say in reply." LOL
yeah, I mean I talk about TV on bluesky more than I do books, and it can get so weird. there's a reason I mostly just post about my bonkers shows. I have some more serious stuff I thought about posting and then I wargamed out the fall-out and was so tired I just did not.
every conversation on social media immediately regresses to its most extreme & silly binaries as everyone gets mad at that one outlier troll on the other side and flattens every opinion into that
yes, we basically need to reestablish intimate groups where there is a basic presumption of good faith and are immediate consequences for being viciously anti-social before we can even HAVE these conversations, now.
quote dunking killed so much of our ability to interact with strangers, man.
and the problem that flows from that, of course, is that many people are not trying to engage with media to see what story it is trying to tell & what that says about the people telling it & how it lands with us. they're trying to decide if a piece of media is Objectively Good (quality/morality)
And there is a sincere problem there, because having a conversation about books is something where people share their perspectives and explore the places they diverge & places they overlap and learn & have fun.
Takes harden people into being Right or Wrong & are inherently combative.
I truly do feel like I've watched media literacy die over the past decade. The book conversation used to be *so good* on early twitter, and now it feels like so few people want to TALK about media, they want to Do Takes about media. But like... not even thoughtful ones. Just For the Algo.
Earth
Okay. This is a much better quality from NASA's site of Earth.

I have some fresh raspberries I need to use like IMMEDIATELY, and Sally was kind enough to include a link to this recipe in her newsletter today, so I guess it was destiny. sallysbakingaddiction.com/raspberry-st...
Someone asked for an app to point your camera at a color and find matches. Cool. Here.
BUT ALSO: I'm colorblind and never thought to make this for myself! Save colors ("new paint," "mom's fave"), get colorblind-friendly complements, simulate what you see vs. what others see. Legit using this daily.
I did!!
brees will start an entire underground whistle bootlegging ring to avoid opening her WIP
is the best part that "attractive" is in slightly dubious quotes, or that there is an implication that the optics would be better if they just fired the uggos, or is it that "men" are apparently the opposite of "attractive women"
honestly my head is spinning
what a rich text
Man I have never been so happy for a random pilot I have never met before
there was a night where the entire whistle chat got sidetracked playing this game over and over

a visualization on a white background where the colors range from a deep raspberry pink/red, through lighter pinks and into purples)
this one must be a trip then!!!! how does it look to you?? (I love this one but also was like "this would be mean to most people who don't have 7 favorite colors of pink and 9 favorite colors of purple)
(really more of a purple/mauve I guess? LOL I'm good at matching hues, not naming them)
so from this I'm guessing that there is a green and a pinkish/purple that look the same to you, because quite a bit of the image is the same but in one the bg & some of the image is purple/pink and it's the opposite in the other
I'm just a girl, standing in front of software companies, asking them to fix the right problems. me thinking about things is not a problem. lol
I love the xTiles software and they occasionally send me notes asking if I want to do video meetings to talk about features I'd like/where they are going, and I used to do it but I didn't this last time because I'm not in a mood to fix my face if they tell me they're gonna ruin something I love ๐ญ
super curious about which ones look the same to you!
(fwiw all four of these read pretty well to me, but I play hue matching games for fun so I may not be a good measure. the only one I couldn't parse pretty well was all the pinks on the white BG in the 2nd post)
