Yeah, I completely agree there. My theory though is that their hands have been tied somewhat by the legal aspect with what they can say.
Respectfully, I disagree that the escalation is all RC's fault.
I'm not referring to Andre or RC as stirring the pot, but other 3rd parties not even directly involved.
Oh the whole thing has been a mess for sure, but imo a lot of that is down to certain actors stirring the pot.

Something about threatening legal action doesn't add up though.. according to Andre's post, "Unbeknownst to me ... Ruby Central’s attorney was sending my lawyer a letter".
How did RubyCentral's attorney know who Andre's lawyer was to be able to do that? Was there already legal action taking place?
Ruby Central dropped the ball here on securing the root account and effectively lost control of it for 11 days - however, that's nothing compared to changing the root password. If an ex-employee did that to me I'd be calling the police.
