Public toilets. Particularly outhouses in national forest campsites.

As a European I've seen everything when it comes to public toilets. Seriously, women, SIT DOWN, DON'T SQUAT!

Watching my tortoise is one of the most peaceful and impressive activities. So much to learn from her wisdom, formed through hundreds of millions of years of evolution. Taking it slow, for example.

Death is all around us. Such as the burning of a large desert area that killed several Saguaros who had been around way over 100 years. They're not build to withstand fire. now their death will nurture life all around them. They house and feed so much life. There's life everywhere. Even in death.

For all of you who are flooded with New Years wishes, old year summaries or overwhelmed by all the things still left to do today, here is a minute of silence in the presence of a human being.

Re-read it this year. And it made me understand the term "Classic". It was as meaningful to me at 50 as it was in my early teens. In a different way but still. Timeless.
