'Twas a fun morning in the shop, finish turning this wonderful piece of black cherry, salvaged from a tree that was down a few miles from here! We have about a dozen more pieces like this one, all local and all fine examples of the species :) 15 inches across and just under 3 inches high....

Today I got to turn a local wood that I don't get to work with much.....Honey locust. It's heavy but easy to cut and it's bright reddish orange color really comes alive when the finish goes on! Some black cherry on tap for tomorrow :)
