Note that in 2024, the UK announced that it will restart nuclear fuel supply for defense purposes - but still respect its moratorium on fissile material production for weapons - how? And how does all of this relate to Project Pegasus? 5/8

But what about the UK? According to MOD, excess warheads are stored at Coulport for dismantlement at AWE Burghfield. If the HEU/Pu has not been eliminated (downblended/used as MOX), it also can be recovered and used in new UK warheads, if so decided. 4/8

Recall that France pledged not to halt making fissile material for weapons after ceasing nuclear testing in January 1996 and shut down its related facilities by June. It makes sense to recover materials from "retired" weapons before it has to recant. 3/8

regarding French stocks of HEU and plutonium: France has enough recoverable material from dismantled warheads for new warheads. 1/8
