I think the greatest trick for getting good at creative work i know is - finish making as many mediocre things as possible. Just finish stuff, again and again. Share it or donโt, but put a bow on it, put it aside, make the next thing, repeat.

The other week, when talking about art, someone asked me if aside from client work I had some personal projects I was working on/wanted to do. It was an innocuous question but basically nobody around me irl really cares about this so it felt so nice to be asked that
The two aren't exactly 1:1 because HP is a dated franchise that sucks and WoW is a live game that's very fun, but there are so many other games to play together. I quit both WoW and my other fave MMO this year and it sucked, but it's just such a small sacrifice to make still
It's kinda Baby's First Intersectionality but LRT has really preoccupied me the past 24h because I know many people who'll happily shit on HP because of JKR but still won't give up WoW. I understand the mechanics behind this but it still... stinks
As easily as you have sworn off Harry Potter pish, you can stop buying games from Microsoft or Microsoft owned studios.
This is such a small ask and low bar to clear, there are thousands of other games available at any moment, but the impact can be huge.
