but then poisons can be cured, as this film repeatedly takes the time to emphasize. plants grow freely and harmlessly as waters and sands run clear. the very sea of decay that threatens to overrun the earth has a healing ecosystem with breathable air underneath. grace, compassion, and kindness are returned hundredfold in the warm glow that bathes the ending sequence. the idea here is that the poison of fear that begets rage that begets violence can be dispelled with these same antidotes. we saw it with teto in the early moments of this movie, those 15 seconds wholly encapsulates what the whole thing is about, and nausicaä believes in us to be just as capable as a little fox-squirrel. i don’t know if i’ll ever get there, or if that even ends up being a worthwhile thing to strive for while existing in a world that’s this poisoned and hurt, but i think somehow, someway, i’m a little bit closer than i was before.

The main card of note in the screenshot is an upgraded and enchanted whirlwind, which deals 12 damage to ALL enemies X amount of times, where X is the amount of energy in this turn. The enchantment also causes the Ironclad to lose 2 HP when played, but other cards in the screenshot such as an upgraded Bloodletting (Skill, Lose 3 HP, gain 3 energy) and Hemokinesis (Attack, Lose 2 HP, deal 15 damage), as well as an ending max HP of 152 (the class normally starts at 80) indicate that this deck is built around intentional self-damage. Other cards in the screenshot include two copies of Adrenaline, normally a Silent class skill card, which helps with energy regen and card draw, and multiple copies of Inflame, an Ironclad power granting 2 strength (3 when upgraded). Several relics are at the top of the screen, including a shovel relic, which has the effect of being able to dig for additional relics at rest areas, as well as the Miniature Tent which lets the player take any number of actions at a rest area.

had a good whirlwind setup this run but this ended up being a couple minutes slower because of my mini tent rest site greed lol
