I have seen 5 year olds who look like they’re in the perpetual act of almost falling skate better than I can.

This! 2nd only to having them describe how much they love a behavior you have, that you didn’t know they saw, and express a deep understanding of why you do it. Being seen and loved in all the ways.

This is really helpful to hear. I started relearning how to roller skate recently, I’m not good at it, and probably was never good at it, have fallen so many times, but afterwards I feel amazing.
