I volunteered for a congressional candidate who was a boring moderate Democrat. He very actively campaigned on his experience as a “Yale Law grad” and “former 9th circuit clerk.” I’ll never forget that because those things only matter to the most deranged freaks around. Terrible strategy. He lost.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
Coming to court tripping balls rolling my face off telling the judge my executive coach said it’s good for my performance
Leaving a case set for trial because the rats ate the weed.
Prosecutors all have hall monitor energy.
It’s actually feminist to be anti abortion, checkmate liberals.
Today’s he/they of the day
That said the area itself is very conservative, eastern Washington broadly, and north Idaho of course, are incredibly conservative. Spokane is trending blue and I think it sets the stage for an interesting clash between the furthest right elements of our politics and everything to the left of that.
We just elected a decently progressive Democrat as mayor, the previous mayor was pretty far right. Historically the congressional representative is Republican but I think Spokane proper votes pretty blue, just not enough to outweigh the surrounding more rural areas in the district.
8 cops to arrest this one dude, seems necessary!
You know, my daddy was a gangsta
And father before him was a damn thug
Ima learn to escape up out of these handcuffs
I ain’t going to court to see no damn judge
Sorry but if you work to keep kids in the Congo in cobalt mines you deserve to be thrown in a volcano, not celebrated.
I'm leaving so many things set for trial today 😈
Things are going well!
Sorry Schoolboy Q, she’s a cop.
If Kamala free the homies then we all lit.
I don’t know that these things are as different as they think they are…
Everyone please quit admitting your alleged crimes to police.
“Aaron was the kindest, gentlest, silliest little kid in the Air Force. He was one of the most principled comrades we’ve ever known, he was always trying to think about how we actually achieve liberation for all, with a smile on his face.”
The main goal is to rid them of their own platform and if extending your own is in some small way, even just potentially, in service of that, I think it’s worth it.
This isn’t a free speech “battle of ideas” thing. “Deplatforming” someone, say Milo or Alex Jones, is an institutional response via public pressure. “Platforming” someone, as in giving them exposure, is not mutually exclusive with deplatforming them and the exposure often helps that process along.
Like no love for Taylor and I think it’s totally self serving to drive clicks and views. That’s a problem but that’s different than “platforming” someone, which is just nonsensical to me when that person has a platform that shapes legislation and reaches millions daily.
How is she platforming anyone, she already has a massive following that commands insane amounts of media attention. At this point you can’t just ignore the most vicious transphobe in the country out of existence. There is value to making these people look bigoted outside of their own platform.
If you or a loved one is experiencing a mental health crisis, never call the cops. Even if it’s really bad, help is clearly needed, still don’t call the police. They won’t help you. They have never helped anyone in that situation. It’s a mistake, and potentially a deadly one.
Samuel Alito is tired of being called a bigot when he is in fact a bigot. A massively powerful bigot.
It’s interesting watching Elon Musk become more and more of a fascist. Kind of clashes with his whole “Tony Stark future man” brand that he’s cultivated (which is entirely fake anyway). It’s also more in line with the brutality and immorality inherent in being the richest man on the planet.
