I am so sorry, Imani.

So today on Gone Medieval I have that rare thing - a medievalist emergency - wherein I had to explain the Avignon Papacy because a lot of people know the phrase *cough* the Trump administration *cough* but they don't actually know what it means. Don't let it be you.

Oooh, Sunset Boulevard is an inspired option!
(Of course, I haven't seen Charade, Rear Window, or Rosemary's Baby, so I'm in for a treat with the first two.)
I don't do video recipes.
Granny Clampett could take all 4 of them with one hand tied behind her back.
(And now I'm daydreaming Irene Ryan & Bea Arthur hamming it up performing "Bosom Buddies" ... sorry, Dame Angela.)
Be excellent to each other ... and party on, dudes!
Wouldn't that be something ...
🤣🤣🤣
Trilobites are freakin' fascinating!!! (They're not related, but I always think about them when I'm observing horseshoe crabs at the beach.)

Weird Al parodied the style of early Beach Boys/Jan & Dean music in "Trigger Happy" which was track 2 on his 1992 album, Off the Deep End (lead single was "Smells Like Nirvana")
He was such a star! Brilliant, too: valedictorian (Rutgers College 1919), multisport athlete (IIRC, football & baseball), Cap & Skull Honor Society ... *sigh*
(Just so we are clear, I'm "meh" on STP but have been OBSESSED with Hamlet since 1994. It explains a lot.)

"How many licks does it take to get to the Tootsie Roll center of a Tootsie Pop?"
IN HIS DEFENSE, he's 16.
JEFFERSON???
My dad objected to "kid-tested; mother-approved" for the former and "choosy moms choose Jif" for the latter.
I actually like Kix bc it's not overly sweet, but we bought the store-brand equivalent instead.
As for pb... we were a Skippy household! (TBH, my fam buys Aldi brand now.)
Dad refused to purchase Kix cereal or Jif brand peanut butter bc the slogans had "mom" in them.
He was the custodial parent to 4 kids in a messy divorce & slammed hard into "mom is default" at every turn.
(I still, 32yrs later, hesitate to purchase either even though they changed their slogans.)
I have 5 minutes left but I just wanted to say the way Hector is *describing* Miguel & Mama Coco got me all teary-eyed and man, y'all both brought so much love into this episode's discussion. Never stop.
Thank you.
It was awesome. (We were SO plastered.)
Cute 'fit! (Dress is amazing, so are the shoes.)
