Sad to see Glasgow's Centre for Contemporary Arts boarded up and well and truly shut last night. This provided a bit of light on a cold, wet evening. Hope it keeps shining.

I ask because a friend of mine and his band once thought they had come up with the best riff ever. They jammed on it for hours, convinced they were writing a massive hit song. It was only when one of them took a break that he realised that it was essentially Purple Haze.

The gig was on YouTube for years but the picture quality was rubbish and I don’t think it had the intro from Billy Sloan.
