(Both of these are probably way outside what my scope should be but shhh)

I think my plan for this DS project is either a racing game where the bottom screen is the track/standings/lap times like Mario Kart DS, or something something like Kid Icarus: Uprising where it'll will have things like dialogue portraits/HUD elements
Just for fun, here's what the same scene would look like with the 3DS's resolution
Booted up my copy of Kirby Squeak Squad for the Nintendo DS portable console and nothing else (ignore the FPS counter) and it seems like by default it's laid out horizontally, but doesn't have any divider
Which looks *better* but still feels wrong somehow
I also want to see if I can find a better way to arrange these because there's so much black space on the edges. but laying them out horizontally feels weird too
Might also look into seeing if I can divide the two screens a little more as well, maybe a thin black border between them
A rough DS style screen system in Godot. The top screen shows a 3D scene of a cube in a default skybox while the bottom shows the Godot logo in a 2D scene. The two views are distinctly separated
Found a way to create a DS style screen system in Godot
No functionality yet, not even entirely sure what I actually want to do with this but I'm happy I got it working because I thought this was gonna be WAY more of a headache
component cable hair ties go hard
I'm a chuckster!
Okay but consider
"Mouse: P.I. For Hire" is a banger
Very interesting decision to put the yearly franchise on gamepass a year behind
Like what are we even doing at this point
Why does it feel like literally nobody can be normal about this game
Like you have to be REALLY looking for a reason to make this game about pedophilia to make this game about pedophilia
Played through the first hour of this game today, and the fact that the entire discourse surrounding this game seems to stem from "a child exists" is both really funny and deeply depressing
Anaconda
one of the movies of all time (allegedly)
2.5/10
Knives Out
Maybe it's because I'd seen Minecraft like 15 minutes earlier and my standards were 0 but holy shit I love this movie. The way everything comes together, the whole "gimmick" of Marta not being able to lie but still finding ways to play on it, the fact that it was genuinely funny
10/10
Minecraft Movie
I thought this was gonna be one of the worst movies I've ever seen until Steve said "Chicken Jockey". I thought that it was terrible afterwards too but in those 2 seconds I was also still thinking that
2/10
FNAF
I don't know if I'd say this movie was *good* but it was very entertaining. Also wtf is FNAF even about bro...
4/10
Monument Valley
I like what this game is going for but I really wish the game put up just a little more resistance with its puzzles. The end put up more than the rest but that was really just the last 2 or 3. Was a good way to kill some time but honestly not much more than that.
6/10
The Cabin in the Woods
I really like how this was a horror movie about horror movies, but not in a "spoof" way (not that there's anything wrong with that ofc)
I think this movie is better if you watch other horror movies in the same way Undertale is if you know JRPG's, but it's still great
8.5/10
Love, Death, Robots (2-4)
Hard to rank because they're all mini stories and I'm not doing them individually but:
Ice, The Drowned Giant, Bad Travelling, The Very Pulse of the Machine, Jibaro, Spider Rose, and For He Can Creep are all 10/10
The only one I actively didn't like was "Can't Stop"
Soul
Good movie, super full of life and expressiveness. I love all the different perspectives about life and passion and interest. Characters are all wonderful, kind of wish they leaned into the Accountant Jerry a little more though I do also like that he shows up, does his job, and dips
9/10
Weapons
Love the way all the stories intersect and come together the way they do, and how it slowly shifts into being more and more supernatural as it progresses. I think the ending was a little drawn out but the ENDING being as drawn out as it is is perfect
9.5/10
Transformers One
7/10
Superman (2025)
The way this movie plays on Superman's backstory is incredible, but also the fact that it gets right into things as well is really cool
I think it trails off a *little* bit towards the end but otherwise great movie
9/10
Now that I'm back from my trip...
*inhales*
kill me
I'm also gonna be landing in Toronto an hour before we take off from Tokyo which is really funny
